who He grants his miracles to? Why if two families pray for the same thing, He will completely ignore one of the families prayers, and grant the other? ...How does He choose which family to answer? Why does He single out the other family? Are they not good or righteous enough in his eyes? Did they not pray hard enough? Does he not love them enough?

why are there so many people committing suicide?

Now I'm not a skeptic, I'm more of a doubter. I believe that a God may exist, but... all the common cliches that I've heard from religion don't seem to really prove their point. In fact, it just raises more questions and makes me even more doubtful. I know I'm supposed to just believe and have faith of my own accord, but the things I've heard and read that are supposed to help me believe in God and convince me that he's loving and kind, all kind of contradict that, and make me decide that it's a God that I wouldn't want to believe in.

I want to believe in a good, loving God. Someone please help me.

In the scriptures we find the existence of a church hierarchy with bishops, priests and deacons.

I regularly read questions challenging Catholics to "show me in the bible where it says Peter is pope?"

So let us now ask those same people why they don't have bishops (episkopos) ?

The King James Version renders the office of overseer, episkopen, as "bishopric" (Acts 1:20)

Recently there have been protests by British Muslim medical students that they should not have to learn about alcohol and STDs. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/health/article2603966.ece

Of course their view on Islam is distorted, but what other areas of science and medicine may be considered unIslamic?

Blacks, Whites, Christians, Atheists, or whatever. Shouldn't we know by now that it makes no sense to generalize since, even in the same culture or religion, we all are different?

One of my friends, Michelle, and I were talking about religion and all that stuff. And I was like, "I don't really fit in with any religions that I know about," so she recommended Wicca. I still don't have a very clear image on the subject. Can anyone clarify?

I write a column for a magazine in the UK and will be submitting this piece soon for publication.
I would be very grateful for thoughts, comments and positive criticisms before I submit this as the absolute final draft as it is an interesting - if contentious - issue.

i welcome all thoughts and feelings regarding homosexuality and religion and may change certain parts of my article on the basis of what I read in these answers ...

Here is the link to the piece:

Thank you in advance!

dear all
When you read Acts 8:37 in the NIV you will read,

36As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, "Look, here is water. Why shouldn't I be baptized?"
38And he ordered the chariot to stop. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him.

why it is(verse 37) deleted in NIV version from kjv version.won"t this deprive us from G-d"s true word.i am out of breathe because of this doubt.explain please.thank you.

If God is so mighty, how come he allows the evil to exist? Why do
innocent people die?If He is so great how come the terrorists killed so many people and He allowed World war 2 to happen? That can mean two things-He cant prevent evil and evil is stronger that Him,or that He dosent care about us.If He is so Great why dosent He invade Hell and kill Satan and his demons? Is Satan stronger than Him?I am not against God and I am not a atheist, but questions like this and this video puzzles me

Every time I read an answer on here from an athiest, it always has this resonance of hatred or disdain behind it. It seems that athiests always have an agenda and that agenda always seems to be some form of depressing people or, as you call it, "bringing them to rational thought rather than an irrational belief in a supreme being." Here is my question: Why is it that athiests, who have no hope or reason for their unbelief (other than irrational ideas about a "god"), still feel the need to bring other people alongside them? Why is it that in an idea that has no hope behind it whatsoever (and is only based in "reality") is promoted just because the alternative is illogical? Why can't I EVER get a decent explanation for athiesm (even in a book), other than "God doesn't exist. It's just a fact. The Bible is full of lies, thousands-of-years-old lies"? The sad thing is, I already know the responses and "answers" I'll get to my "questions."

That whole lame story about "the human species splitting in two" is a prime example. I noticed quite a few comments trying to rationalize such nonsense. It is good that Curry is working in progessively secular UK. He is just putting a new spin on eugenics,

Religion wasn't crammed down my throat. Don't assume that every theist was just raised with religion all their life. sometimes it comes their belief comes later in life. So what was the extent of your religious upbringing? Is it a factor in your belief or lack of belief.

Here's some scenarios;
1. I was forced to go everyday, pray everyday, and religion was crammed up my butt everyday
2. Never was mentioned or talked about
3. We went sometimes
4. My parents went, but I wasn't required to go
5. I was exposed to a various kinds of religion.
