I'm a 29 year old single mom of a 4year old. I have struggled with the concept of Christianity for a long time. I believe in God, and I believe in Jesus. My problem is that I have tried so hard to turn my life and my heart over to Him, but I guess I don't know how! I don't even really know how to explain it. I really want to raise my child to believe and have no doubts, but how can I when I don't feel it? I pray on a regular basis, but I have a real problem trusting that God will make sure things turn out the way they are supposed to. I don't know how to get to a point where I can believe with my whole heart, but I want it so bad! Can someone help? I don't want my child to do through this when she is older!

The following verses say that we can lose, exchange, and sell our soul. What do you think?

“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father's glory with the holy angels." - Mark 8,36-38 (KJV)

Please tell me your religion. If you are a Christian tell me your denomination please.
Do you think there is a need for modern day Apostles and Prophets? If you do, why?

I`m not saying that God is bound by the same laws as human beings. Causation is a relationship that obtains between events that occur within space and time. God is said to exist outside of space and time (if there is such a thing)

How can something that is outside of space and time cause material objects to come into existence space and time, when causation is a relationship between two events in space time?

Let me guess, because he`s God.

Seas are not parting, Pillars of fire are not guiding people anywhere, People are not surviving in fiery furnaces nor in the belly of a great fish, and the dead, even the faithful dead, are not rising from their graves and returning to their families. And we can't even feed our own planet from abundance, much less 2 loaves and 5 fish.

What makes these different from the tales about an oversized lumberjack and his giant blue ox?

I'm a 13 y/o boy and I live in a pretty well off middle class suburb in Phoenix. I go to a good school and I have a pretty good group of friends. All my life I've been a Christian, but I didn't always act like one in school. For example, there was a girl in my PE class last year who came from a problem family. She got into a lot of trouble, bullied kids from a nearby elementary school, shoplifts, and vandalizes things. She is always being mean to people in class too. Whenever she said anything nasty to me, I would say something mean back. Even though she did a good job covering it up, I could tell that my words hurt her more than her words hurt me. I would feel a little guilty, but I still felt justified.

Then came summer 2006. Our youth group went on a 10-day mission to Mexico. I met a boy from a Denver church there, who was there for the same reason as I was. He is my age, and we became good friends.

I think my pastor does not like me. Everytime I come up to the alter to give my offering he runs off the pulpit and goes back up when I reach me seat. I have noticed this several time. I really love this church and it is hard for me because, I say this in the most humble way I can because I think they may not be used very attractive women in the penacostal church. I like to where some make and I used to be a runway model in paris. I am not a hoe and I do make eye contact with the pastor and other people in the church. Do I have a dark spirit or something as I why when he sees me he looks me in the eye and flees! I am scared as I would love to be involved there but I don't want to cause any man temptation or have a bad reputation.

What could be the problem as to why he does this? Is this my fault and what can I do to stop it.

Thank you for your understanding!

they would change? I get confused sometimes reading some of these answers and questions. It seems like SOME of you think that, when God, Jesus whoever comes down and proves to the world they are there, that we will just drop everything and bow down... I personally wouldnt, so i dont understand the "You will be proven wrong! and will regret how you lived your life" blah blah... umm, no I wont actaully. Just because I dont believe in God doesnt mean i was living a bad life in the first place, and if its not good enough for Him "when he comes back" than oh well. Why would I bow down to someone like that?

I think i rambled a bit.

I naturally want my son genitally mutilated like any other caring parent but I feel the Jewish,Christian and Muslim traditional mutilation of the foreskin would be inappropriate for my atheist baby son, I was wondering where I could get a ring fitted through his frenum instead...anyone know, will doctors perform this unnecessary but important operation?

I'm not saying that god is not all-loving, I'm saying there is no god so don't give me the usual 'if suffering is used as evidence to disprove the existence of a loving God, then equally any good that happens in the world ought to be used as an evidence to support that there is a loving God.'

I think everything that happens, **** or otherwise is just part and parcel of life or mere coincidences. Convince me otherwise pls :)

So i am a Christian, and i was just wondering, what is the big deal with Christians?
Now i kno there are plenty of them out in the world that say "Oh! if you dont read the bible and believe in God, you're going to Hell!"
but lots arent like that. I mean, i have TONS of friends who are Athiest, Agnostic, Wiccan, Pagan, etc. I dont hate them. i dont tell them they have to come to church with me to be my friend!
I dont like how some Christians are so discriminatory against other people for not sharing the same faith. I guess the argument i could give for those like that is that they are soo happy that they want to share the cause of their joy (christianity) with everyone, and it comes off way to strong. They just want other people to feel the way they do.I love being a Christian, but im here to ask what is the problem with ones who arent shoving the bible down your throat?
