So i am a Christian, and i was just wondering, what is the big deal with Christians?
Now i kno there are plenty of them out in the world that say "Oh! if you dont read the bible and believe in God, you're going to Hell!"
but lots arent like that. I mean, i have TONS of friends who are Athiest, Agnostic, Wiccan, Pagan, etc. I dont hate them. i dont tell them they have to come to church with me to be my friend!
I dont like how some Christians are so discriminatory against other people for not sharing the same faith. I guess the argument i could give for those like that is that they are soo happy that they want to share the cause of their joy (christianity) with everyone, and it comes off way to strong. They just want other people to feel the way they do.I love being a Christian, but im here to ask what is the problem with ones who arent shoving the bible down your throat?

haha ok i guess i kinda sounded like i hate christians myself!
i dont hate them! i just dont like the fact that some other christians are kindof hypocrits,
they get mad at Athiest for trying to force science on us, but yet lots of christians force things down non-believers throats.
it just pushes ppl away from our religion rather than make it seem inviting.

I'm glad that you are an open minded person! Unfortunately, not many people are as accepting as you. Although, for some reason, you seem to think people hate Christians? Well, I'm sure that there are people who do, because there will always be people who think that their opinions are absolute and should be shared by everyone else in the world. I, however, have no problems with Christians. I am Atheist, and can assure you that not all Atheists hate Christians.

The small, very-vocal, and arguably insane group of folks calling themselves Christian give the whole group a bad name.

If you weren't a Christian, what would you think about Christianity if your main exposure came from things like Billy Graham, or any goofball televangelist saying things like God says to love all people, but we should HATE HATE HATE the gays! Or, telling colleges to ban their biology classes because they teach evolution which is against God. Or claim that Halloween is the Devil's holiday?

Think about people who believe in Islam, and how they've been unfairly lumped into the same group as that small group of insane idiots living in caves who believe that the way to heaven is through murder.

This is different than those who are just over-enthusiastic, and go around saying "Jesus! Let me tell you about Jesus!" At least those folks are sincere in their beliefs, and just want to share their joy. But I honestly don't know how other so-called Christians can stand there and talk with a straight face about how God is love, and how we should all love one another, while hating (or outright killing) other groups because "God said so". Honestly, those folks should just go away, grow a beard, and move into the adjacent caves to those other insane extremists over in Pakistan.

There's nothing wrong with the ones refraining from shoving the Bible down throats. You guys don't bother me. It's the "OMG YOU JUST HAVE TO BELIEVE IN THE BIBLE ITS TRUE!!!!111oneoneone" that you mentioned that annoys me...

I'm not an Atheist, by the way. I'm a polytheist, I believe in God.

I don't hate anyone of any religion. To be honest, I don't hate anyone. I treat people as I would want to be treated. If someone betrays me, I cut them from my life because I don't want that kind of negativity surrounding me and affecting me in a bad way. I deal with these type of people as little as possible and only if I have to. If someone wants to discriminate me because my lack of religion and belief, that's their problem. They're the ones that have to live with it, not me. I'm not going to let it affect me.

It's not that I don't find it interesting, I just don't believe in your god or what the bible says.

I've got no problems with the religion, it's just not right for me. I only have problems with proselytizing Christians. Since Jesus taught love and tolerance, I've got no problems with people who actually practice this. In fact, three of my friends (one of whom I consider as close as a sister) are devout Christians. They have no problems with my religion, and I've got none with theirs. I wish them Merry Christmas, and they wish me a Happy Yule. I even went to Church with one of them while I stayed at her house for a week (I didn't want to be rude). I was bored, but I felt no resentment toward her or her religion. I say, live and let live.

People look at ALL Christians as one and the same and expect perfection. We're all flawed. We're all different. But, we follow the same God, maybe people who hate Christians will remember that people they know who are Christians could very well be abominable people. To be a TRUE Christian we are called to follow in Jesus' footsteps and teachings. To not judge one another, to forgive one another and love one another. Only then are we Christian. A person who stereotypes and categorizes people as all the same is naive and ignorant. Luckily, Jesus forgives us. Being human means being imperfect.

i don't believe of both atheists or Christians hate one yet another, Its stupid to hate someone because of religion. i trust its a more suitable annoyance then hate. fairly some human beings in simple terms can't settle for yet another aspect of view on issues.

"i dont tell them they have to come to church with me to be my friend!" Now just spread that point of view among other Christians.

I met a guy just a few weeks ago while traveling and we got along great until I didn't want to go to his church and essentially he wanted nothing to do with me afterward.

My best friend at work is a Christian of some denomination. We have agreed that religion is a deadend subject outside of an academic discussion and we've gotten along great for years. He has never tried to convert me and I have no belief system to convert him to so we get along great.

It has nothing to do with being a Christian it has nothing to do with your beliefs. If someone tried to indoctrinate me unwillingly to their belief system I would think very little of them regardless of what they believed. And if they excuse was "It's what my belief system tells me to do" well then that belief system is simply rude disrespectful and inconsiderate.

I do not hate Christians per say. I definitely greatly dislike the organization of your religion though. My Mother is a Christian and i love her, so too was my Father. I am willing to like anyone who is pleasant towards me regardless of their religious beliefs.

People hate Christians because of the religion itself. Christianity is the most explained religion in the world. Muslims are taught to hate Christians because they are taught to hate all "infadels". I have no idea why Hindus hate us Christians. Jewish people don't hate us they just don't agree with us. Even though the US is the only ally to Isreal. Christians have been persecuted since Christ was on this earth. Christ said that we will always face persecution for our faith.
