I believe because, aside from the amazing pluses that come with having the greatest power that there is, the totality of all existence on my side, there are the fact that the human mind and body, spirit and society all win when people act from a non-selfish point of view, with generous actions towards others, and a true feeling that we are all part of one group. The racisim of the world would have been gone a long time ago if everyone understood that the Lord has a plan and an intention for every action that happens, and even if I don't understand the reasoning behind it, he does everything for a purpose. I don't need to know the details of the plan to understand that my creator wants what is best for me, and yours wants what is best for you too, even if you don't believe. The act of praise to a higher power is not because He needs my worship, it is because we need to make the sacrifice of pride to live a happier life.

If God is real, and what Paul says, "It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God" is true, and what the Bible teaches is true, then for your own sake, it would be beneficial to believe in him.
But you still have free will. No one can force you to believe anything.
You want less vague? A few months ago, something in my heart challenged me. It said, "Is there really a God?"
I went on a personal quest to find God. God was a being for me that I just took for granted. I believed in him, I was sure, but I didn't really ponder him.
I had a spiritual crisis.
I looked at all the alternatives. I researched evolution being another answer to how we exist, and could find no consensus amongst scientists that said that a) God is not real and b) Evolution is entirely unquestionable.
Through thinking and researching, I came to believe that there is a God. He is real, nothing else can explain our perfect order on earth, in the solar system, the universe.
It's not all a mistake.
Can I make you see God as I see him? No. But hear the warning of Paul: "His attributes are clearly seen in all that is made, therefore no one is without excuse."
We see God through his creation. We see his love in the time he took to make us, all the effort and thought he put into it.

We know it is a sarcastic question but since you asked here is my answer... Just to point out to you, the elipse is shown by three dots as in ...! :)
I think the notion of God implies religion.
I think religion is an abomination on this world.
But I do believe in a "primary cause" for everything in this vast universe including this tiny, almost infinitesimal speck of dust we call Earth.
My only real problem is I did not create any of this and I disagree with it completely!!!

I believe in God because first I was raised that way through my family. Plus the world shows that there is a God. If God did not exist there would not be billions of people believing in Him. Plus, when I pray to Him my prayers get answered!!! That is good evidence right there.

I believe God to be the Divine Intervention of both good and evil. The God that can create the whole universe and the God that can destroy it.

As with anything we believe or don't believe I think our parents set the tone for much of it. I think religion is no exception. People choose to believe based on how they were brought up. I think people follow whatever they see is the most beneficial for themeselves.

For all that I have seen I trust the Creator for all that I can not see.
It is a simple matter of faith.
