Not directly, there are too many as it is. Why not go for something that people can identify with without confrontation. For example, Whatever created the Universe and is the source of all things that we know. Call it Creators place or some such.

Have just one commandment, namely You do not do something that is intended to benefit you more than it benefits other people. Your teachings are practical guidelines on how to achieve that.

Instead of services have group get togethers, where there is a little communal singing and discussion of members problem's and help proposed by those in the group. Any body can join, but they are not allowed to discuss religion or other belief systems. Then Market it very strongly.

Good luck, because if you succeed then the world would be a better place for everybody!

No he's got enough on his plate. Before Catholicism the Romans used to worship different Gods for different things. So did the vikings, pagans infact quite a lot of religions did. Now me I'd go for an off shoot of Buddhism, as far as I know they're not over keen on war and seem happy enough. As you might of guessed it's not a subject that I give a lot of thought. To say I'm an agnostic is to be kind.

Generally speaking, most religions incorporate some notion of immortality, continuance, afterlife, etc. It's part of the mass appeal. Without some kind of benevolent god or entity ensuring a quality afterlife, it's hard to imagine how it would attract converts or believers. So...prolly gotta have a "god" of some sort if mass appeal is in your plan. The "god" could just be the plan itself...

The most important thing is the philosophy behind it. This is the basis of how you percieve any god. The concepts then generate there own myths and archetypes. This means whether you interpret "god" as a being or an entity.

I would say not to start a new religion at all. There are so many religions out there, it sounds like a waste of time. God is allready real so, it doesn't really matter.

There is no need for a "new "religion in the world. Just start a church based on the church in the Bible. The church of Jesus Christ started @ Pentecost. So, refer yourself/familiar yourself w/ the bk. of Acts. God bless in your endeavor.
