Outside spacetime = No place and at no time.

In my opionon when people talk about outside spacetime they`re talking about nothing. That which does not exist anywhere at anytime.

Your thoughts?

you're religious, great. you have faith no mortal being can shatter. would you put a gun to your head to prove it? strap a bomb to your chest and blow yourself up (assuming no one else gets hurt, unless that's part of your beliefs) in order to protect your beliefs?
to die for your country is almost a cliché, but dying for your religion has altogether different connotations attached. would you do it-- even think about doing it? (assume somewhere sometime you thought God wanted you to)

In my opinon this is weakest argument for atheism. It`s presupposing that if a God existed there would be evidence of his existence, and since there is no evidence of his existence he does not exist. What constitues as evidence? This argument loses all its force and is easily refutable when talking about the God of the Abrahamic religions. Christians, Muslims, Jews all contend that God exists outside of space and time. Posteriori propostions i.e. empircal evidence can only be found in spacetime. If a being exists outside of spacetime then obviously there would be no evidence. Plus theists believe that God created everything so the evidence is all around us. This argument is equivalent to when theists say, well you cant disprove God. Duh! How can disprove something in spacetime when it is said to exist outside spacetime. Same thing with ferries and pink unicorns. Out of all the great arguments for atheism it amazes me that people frequently use the weakest one.

According to my newly church going in-laws they say that it is only important to read the New Testament because it's what God really wants us to know and this is what there non demoninational speaking in tounges church teaches them. Personally I think it's important to know the whole Bible.

If you do, you should know that your belief means nothing to God. On judgment day, his response will be "You believed that all religions were equal? Well I SAID that the only way to Heaven is through Jesus Christ." And that will be the end of the discussion.

GOOD MORNING BALTIMORE -- The father of a Marine killed in Iraq took the stand in his invasion of privacy suit against a fundamentalist church that pickets soldiers' funerals, saying protesters carrying signs at his son's burial made him sick to his stomach. Albert Snyder said Wednesday he had hoped for a private funeral for his son, Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder.
They turned this funeral into a media circus and they wanted to hurt my family," Snyder testified. "They wanted their message heard and they didn't care who they stepped over. My son should have been buried with dignity, not with a bunch of clowns outside.

Snyder is suing the Westboro Baptist church, whose members have picketed the funerals of military personnel killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, claiming the deaths are punishment for the country's tolerance of homosexuality. The York resident is seeking unspecified monetary damages in the case for invasion of privacy and intent to inflect emotional distress.

I guess I'm thinking of prayer, studying the Word, fasting (though I know some think the need for this has past), singing songs to God. I know this can also be split up into subgroups --- praise, petition, listening prayer, group Bible studies, individual devotions, etc --- it could go on basically forever. And I know I'm not mentioning everything possible here, not even scratching the surface. But basically I'm asking what do you feel fills you with the most joy and peace? And what do you find the hardest to wade through?

Thanks! :)
