Socrates said a good person doesn't need to fear death, because it's either a long peaceful rest without thought, or you will be with other good people.

I think that's true, and I don't think religion matters at all when it comes to this. A good God would provide a just afterlife, so as long as you're a good person, it seems a relaxing and maybe exciting adventure.

I would like to die regretting the things that I have done

and not to die regretting the things I never did

and if death can show me the world and all the thrills in my life time

then yes death is my friend

Death is neither friend nor foe, for in truth it is nothing. If it were true, we would not have needed Jesus, because death seems real enough to us in this age already. But it is the last enemy to be destroyed (by truth).

When there is great pain and there is no way to stop it, and the person is never going to get better,,,then death would be a friend.

i feel like when its your time, you go. some people say that death is a bad thing. i personally dont feel that way. i feel that you are at peace [most of the time] and you are in a safe place. in a way i feel that the next life is better than the one we're in right now. you just have to be ready to accept that and not fear it. i know that other people will argue but just believe what you want. its meant to happen.

Yes, death can sometimes spare us from things that would otherwise be very difficult to bear. Psalm 116:15 'Precious in the sight of the LORD [is] the death of his saints.'
Isaiah 57:1 'The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth [it] to heart: and merciful men [are] taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil [to come].' God does things, even seemingly bad things, for a reason. Nearly all of the time, we cannot possibly fathom the reasons He has for doing these things, but there is always a good reason for why things happen.
Romans 8:28 'And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose.'
Romans 8:18 'For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time [are] not worthy [to be compared] with the glory which shall be revealed in us.'
If the righteous die, then they are assured of heaven, and they do not have to face any of the hard times that might cause them to loose faith. God is merciful and good, always. Psalm 136:1,2 'O give thanks unto the LORD; for [he is] good: for his mercy [endureth] for ever. O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy [endureth] for ever.'

i like this question because i like the thought of death. i welcome death ... i wait patiently in this long long line to die. i stand here just waiting until its my turn to ring the bell. and although they say ya' cant take anything with ya! ... well guess what... there will be someone behind that counter waiting to load my bags into an aeroplane because i'm going home! i'm just waiting .. doing my job, loving those who God puts in my life, and being a doer of His will. but, yes, i am standing in line. i couldnt enjoy life anymore without the thought of death.

Death can be your friend when you are saved and ready to meet Jesus @ a moments notice. Also, it is a blessing to see someone pass when they are doing nothing but suffer. I hope that adequately answers your questions.
