yet it is them whom we are supposed to respect.....it is them who get all the rights and socially practise their relegion in the public. they can go about saying happy ramadan with scrafs and caps but we can;t say merry christmas!!
we need to be more solomnised about our festivals and wish happy holidays!! cause they may get offended!!

Please answer with your own words, not verses from the Bible, although it might be based on the Bible and your beliefs, of course, but try to think for yourself.

My concept of sin is none. I don't see myself as sinner, at least not the concept most people preach around. I know I commit mistakes. I did and I still do, but that doesn't put me in any lower position than anyone. Sin sounds to me like someone dirty or repulsive. We are all beautiful and equal. We all commit mistakes in life and that's OK. Some of us might insist on the mistake, because we are naturally stubborn, but eventually, in this life or next, we overcome and learn from that.

Peace!

Perhaps "born again" people ought to try and return to their first-born selves, eh ?

What do you think ?

I haven't really ever read the bible, but I would like to become closer in a walk with God, and become a woman of prayer. I know that this is not a book to read cover to cover, so my question is, where to start? I would like to read it in a way that I will understand the bible family tree and not get lost as to who everyone is. Does that make sense? Is it a good idea? If not, how can I read it in a way that the events will make sense to me in a chronological order?

If you are so secure in your beliefs why is it that someone with a different belief system frightens you to a point of having to be rude or threatening them with a fictious place like hell that they dont even believe in?

it was said to preach 'THE TRUTH' and NOT preach your own OPINION on matters of what "the truth" should be to all people!

should I really have to spell it out that way to make you understand that YOUR truth is NOT really "THE TRUTH" because your truth is ONLY your OPINION of what truth is!

...that this weekend, when I needed to buy a tarp to cover my leaking roof, tarps happened to be 50% off?

If so, why didn't God just not make my roof leak?

For Christians, Muslims, Jehovas, and many other religions, it could be said they believe "life begins after death", as they are anticipating going to heaven, mecca, being saved, etc. Why are they giving up the good things in life they could have now, with the idea that "Life begins when you die!" and you meet up with your "God", etc.

If this never happens, won't they be screwed?

I will explain why I ask this. I saw a programe on BBC 2 last night about teenagers who were very gifted mathematicians. One of them said that he was a Christian. He then went on to say that he didn't believe God created the world in six days. He said that it was created with an accidental big bang about 16 billion years ago.
I think that this lad's intelligence has got in the way of his faith.
I am a Christian and if God tells us in His word that He created the world in six days then that should be good enough. Who am I to tell Him he is wrong?

I am interested to know how many honest "Christians" actually don't believe in God's creation.

Jesus observed the Jewish Law, and his disciples followed him: "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:17-20)

Christians do not follow the Torah as observed by the earliest Christians. Paul, a self-proclaimed apostle who discarded the Jewish Law, is instead being followed by Christians. Why?

why not question you own beliefs?

your comprehension of the Bible that you read is questionable too, so why don't you focus on your own doctrines instead of meddling with other people's beliefs?

I read all of these questions here, "Why do Catholics believe this when it's so dumb?" and "Why do Christians hate everything but themselves?" and "Why doesn't everyone accept that _insert religion here_ is the one correct religion?" and I just don't understand why people can't just accept each other's differences and get along. Where does it say, in ANY religious text or doctrine, "Be a total jerk about religion and you will totally save peoples' souls."?
