why not question you own beliefs?

your comprehension of the Bible that you read is questionable too, so why don't you focus on your own doctrines instead of meddling with other people's beliefs?

spiritroaming, don't ask him about what part he didn't understand because if he has ever had a tad bit of understanding, he wouldn't be like that, a fundie, in the first place.

Bible-fundamentalists will never do that because they have been conditioned to never question their own religion.
Sad really

They question others beliefs in order to keep proving to themselves they are right.

What do they think Christians were doing after the death and resurrection of Christ? I mean there was no New Testament, the Gospels had not been written yet. Were the Apostles just waiting around for the Scriptures to be written so they would know what to do? No, they were teaching the faith, they were celebrating Mass, they were consuming Jesus Christ in the Eucharist, they were baptizing infants and adults, and they were passing on the oral traditions...all before the Word was even written yet.

So, how is it a fundamentalist can be so arrogant as to say the Apostles of Christ were wrong? The practices of the Catholic Church are ancient and directly from the Apostle's oral traditions. Nothing the Church does has ever or would ever go against the Bible.

CJ picked up a Bible one day, read a few verses, suddenly he's an infallible interpreter of scripture. Amazing huh? Or rather impossible. He feels arrogant and prideful enough to debunk the teachings of Christ's own Apostles and insist that his teachings are correct...I think he's treading on very dangerous ground.

I suggest that we all say a Hail Mary for CJ, he could really use the help of the our Blessed Mother.

Why do you keep bashing Bible-fundamentalists?
Are you really part of the solution, or just fueling the fire?
It's apparent that you are on your own personal crusade, and are really no better than those you are waging war against.

As for questioning beliefs... I believe this is a question and answer forum. A tad bit of understanding goes a long way on either side of the fence. It helps us to love one another, if we all can get past the anger and hypocrisy.

I do not meddle, in fact the only questions I have answered here are in defense of my own beliefs as well the evangelising I have done is by people coming and inquiring of me as to why I live my life the way I do. I dont force God as the greatest gift ever given (GRACE) should be given and accepted in love not forced down someones throat like a jagged little pill!

Fundies question other peoples' beliefs because they are trying to cause others to doubt their beliefs. They believe that if they do this enough, they can force others to convert. But what they don't get is that it only works with the weak-minded.

It is not comprehension it is revelation through the Holy Spirit. It is not until you have the mind of God that you can understand the things written by God. It is really no different than understanding or learning a foreign language but way cooler. The biggest difference is that it cannot be taught it has to be given to you.

I question my own beliefs continually. Faith unchallenged is little more than tradition & upbringing. Beliefs change with age, understanding & wisdom. But you don't throw away what ALL you've found to be true because part of your beliefs change.

If others question why I believe as I do then why is it wrong to question others? Isn't that a little hypocritical? Aren't you trying right now to convince me I'm wrong?

You might ask why you are confronting them with what you see as a problem (perhaps because your pluralism excludes exclusive truth). And if that can be justified, how much more for those who have found the wonderful reality of Christ in their lives and thus seek the temporal and eternal welfare of other souls?

seriously nobody can prove the existence of any "belief" excepting science. "beliefs" are exactly that something to chat about over coffee with someone who believes the same things about the "Unknown" only some people don't handle that very well, if you are refering to all the crazy type people (which includes alot of self proclaimed "christians") remember what your mom said and don't talk to Strange people! see you in heaven!

I am wearing cotton and wool while eating a sandwich filled with meat from a cud chewing animal that doesn't have a cloven hoof. By the way, I am planting both corn and wheat on the same field.

I wouldn't pay any attention to CJ, he is a person who is acting out because somehow he demands attention.

I think we would have better luck placing our questions to Fundamentalists in Braille huh?
