I myself am an Atheist. And i believe there is only two types, do u agree and which one are u ?

1. The Atheists that know (believe) there isn't a god so they don't care about nothing and just go around f*cking people's lifes up and f*cking with everyone's emotions because they know (believe) they is no consequenses to be had.

2. The Atheist who knows(believes) there isn't a god, but yet is good to everyone and respects everyone's views, even though they know(believe) there will be no reward(i.e. heaven, or eternal life.)

"Though he was a rebel and an associate of Lucifer in the preexistence, and though he was a liar from the beginning whose name was Perdition, Cain managed to attain the privilege of mortal birth....As a result of his rebellion, Cain was cursed with a dark skin; he became the father of the negroes, and those spirits who are not worthy to receive the priesthood are born through his lineage. He became the first mortal to be cursed as a son of perdition." Mormon Doctrine, page 109.

that the theists might not be right, after all?
I'm not referring to any one religion, necessarily...but, seriously...are you all that positive that there is not, somewhere, a Creator...a Mind, if you will...that does exist, and that is vitally concerned about each of us?

Do you ever wonder if there isn't something you might be missing out on??

Please be polite. There is nothing intelligent about making fun of what you do not understand, or do not share. All you show with condescending attitudes is that sour grapes only produce whine...

a particular person has just come to me with this evidence of dinosaurs in the bible...

Though thou hast sore broken us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death Psalm 44:19 11:55 AM

Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou brakest the heads of the dragons in the waters

The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, [and] rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen. 11:55 AM

And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, [shall be] grass with reeds and rushes. 11:56 AM

And Babylon shall become heaps, a dwellingplace for dragons, an astonishment, and an hissing, without an inhabitant.

i intend on posting this in the science section as well...just to get an "educated" opinion...

Christians, lets be honest. The only reason you believe God is lovable is because you believe He is saving you from eternal torment and punishment. This world is filled with an unimaginable amount of pain and the next world will be the same for most as well. Do we deserve this? Should God expect perfection from beings He created deeply flawed? Why should we love God for creating this predicament?

In my opinion, He never forced Himself. He came, He spoke and He allowed people to think by themselves. He still does. It is like He throws the seeds, but it is up to us to water them and make them grow. He allows us to use our free will to make it happen at our own pace, which means if we don't get it straight at the first chance, no problem. We will have many chances to do it... in several existences.

Jesus is the only mediator between God and man. So why not just pray directly to him? Are they placing a mediator between them and Jesus?

"Because it is Biblical to ask the living to pray for you", you may say? Well that does not answer the question. Again: why not just pray directly to Jesus?
Oh, that's okay. Actually, it IS Biblical. And that's what Catholics do when we pray to the saints: We ask THEM to pray for us. And PLEASE do not say they are "dead". Anyone in heaven is ALIVE - more alive than you or I, I might add.

I invite people who REALLY want to get to the bottom of this to read these tracts:

http://www.catholic.com/library/Praying_to_the_Saints.asp
http://www.catholic.com/library/Intercession_of_the_Saints.asp

Does anybody understand what I'm saying? Comments?
God bless everyone. ; )

whenever a person ask them why they preach their own interpretation of the Bible, and why they call their personal interpretation as "God's words", they will answer, "The Bible is God's words and it's the truth".

they think they could worm their way out of the question by saying that, when what the person was actually questioning is their fallable comprehension of the Bible, and not the Bible itself; and that what they are preaching are merely their own fallable interpretation of the Bible, and it's definitely NOT God's words, unless of course, they are implying that they are God?

if so, that is idolatry and pride --- an abomination to God.

Are our senses trustworthy?

Anticipating certain a few negative answers, I'll try to give my defense of the trustworthiness of the senses (even if damaged):

Since all knowledge comes through the senses, if we deny their trustworthiness, we deny our ability to know anything with certainty. However, the man who admits we cannot know anything with certainty admits certain knowledge that certain knowledge is impossible. We cannot know both something and nothing at the same time, for the proposition fails when tested by itself. Further, the man who distrusts his senses does so because of perceived past failures of his senses, meaning he learned from his senses (seemingly) that they were untrustworthy, thus nullifying the potency of the initial cause of distrust.

Now, I know a lot of you know me on this site - and most of you should know that I tend to be one of the more respectful and "tolerant" atheists on this site. So, it came as quite a shock (ok, not really...) this morning to open my mail and find this:

"From: Greg T

Subject: You are lost and stupid

Message: You are lost and, judging by your posts, you are incredibly stupid. I am so much smarter than you are, that it's not even funny. Actually, it is funny.
Look, you are living in sin and you are blinded to the truth. Turn to Jesus, accept Him as your savior. You are currently on the road to Hell but Jesus can help you to pull off onto the exit before it's too late. I'll pray for you."

Now, whoever wrote this is not stupid - it is grammatically correct, broken into paragraphs, and all with correct spelling... So, how could someone who seemingly possesses some intelligence be so.... well, you know. Insulting others is against TOS, and I dont want to be accussed...

Creationists, you claim there is evidence that refutes evolution, do you know of any? Creationists, where is this proof? If you have sources, please state, and I perfer Wiki or Answers.com, since they are unbaised.

Atheists claim that there is no or very little evidence regarding Creationism, and mountains of evidence for evolution, please, site your sources as I asked for the Creationists, and please use Wiki or Answers.com, since they are unbaised.

Now, I want a good, clean fight...no attacks, no calling the other stupid. We're all adults (or older teens) so please, both sides act like your age. Now..LETS GET IT ON!!!! -ding ding-

The Jewish laws were clear--"an eye for an eye"-"give your enemy no peace",divorce your wife with a personal letter, stone adulterers to death, don't work on the Sabbath etc--Christ overturned these barbaric laws--and was accused of blasphemy for doing so--If Christ rejected these laws--why do fundamentalists still believe they are sacred??
Exodus 21: 23And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,

24Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,

25Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.

Matthew 5: 38Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:

39But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right

cheek, turn to him the other also.
