A lot of people who had bought tickets to go to America on the Tintanic, would not go because of the gut feelings they had. My friend had an urge to take a day off work because of a feeling she had she got, she didnt and got knocked down on her road to work. Anyone else had these things happen to them.

no offense meant, but are there more gullible people in America than anywhere else?

How come you always feel the need to bite at Christians yet you don't give us a reasonable reason to go atheist? Why do you feel we HAVE to believe atheism? At least we have a hope of where we're going.

Everybody else seems to be generalizing about atheists today, so I thought I'd join in.

A bit back, somebody here asked people to post if they needed prayers, and they would prayer for them. A lot of people posted that they prayed for me after I said I had a CAT scan coming up to check for non-Hodgkins lymphoma which I had 7 years ago (it is a yearly checkup).
Right when people said they were praying for me I felt an enormous energy and heat rushing through my body, and I got burning hot tears in my eyes, and then afterwards I felt very peaceful.
I was very afraid of my test of course, since I am married with small children and it would be a disaster if it came back.
I just got my test results a couple weeks ago and they were all clear!!! Thank you for your prayers. Does anybody else think it made a difference? I don't know if my cancer was back or not, but I know what I felt and I know what your concern meant to me. Thank you and God bless. David.

For those of you who study evolution; species are constantly evolving and from those, new species are being created, but at a much faster rate species are becoming extinct. On a systematical objective view would it be likely to predict cockroaches soon being the dominant species on the planet?

Here is how I justify this assumption:

Of all species that have existed on Earth, 99.9 percent are now extinct. Many of them perished in five cataclysmic events.

According to a recent poll, seven out of ten biologists think we are currently in the throes of a sixth mass extinction. Some say it could wipe out as many as 90 percent of all species living today. Yet other scientists dispute such dire projections.

Scientist also consider how one species -- Homo sapiens -- may be triggering a modern mass extinction.

If Nuclear winter causes such an extinction, Cockroaches might remain as the dominant species. How will they rule the earth? Through democracy or dictatorship?

I'm going to write a book saying that God told me you all have to worship me because I'm the second comming and that you must believe it because God says, in my book, that it is true!!!

What's that? You're not going to believe it? Then why do you believe in the bible just because it says that God said the bible is true??

(and yes, someone DID just say that)

I noticed that everyone athiest and bellievers in the religous section give good rating to other people who share thier ideas and bad rating for other people who don't share thier ideas, we both do that, and sometimes not somtimes a lot of times innocent answers that been answerd get a low rating... it just unfair,

and i guess we should stop that, and what matter most, why some athiests get into a question asked from a belliever to a belliever and give low rating and answers with some answer related by athiest? AND THE BELLIEVERS DO THE SAME!! ,

and what matter most why we won't stop all that this section for religous question not for Athiest VS. Bellievers Section... and why we dont stop that war? we should leave each other alone

Does he, for instance, ever do something with the intention of spreading evil, but, because he's incompetent, inadvertently ends up spreading good, for good people?

Or is he perfect all of the time?

Since God gave us our life there for it's not really ours we are followers, life is barrowed... so wouldn't it be the same to commit suicide or kill another?

...do you think the testmaker is competent? Do you think think it is an reliable and valid test that places people appropriately?

My personal position is no, the testmaker isn't very competent. And I say that because every life is different so it would be impossible to standardize the test conditions. With life being uneven as it is, I think the only just judgement would be that everyone goes the same afterlife or to one that is singularly unique for them.

But I want to know what you think. Do you think the testmaker knows what he/she/it is doing? If this life is a test, should it be revised?

This is a little quote from an answer regarding mormons.

"Read the Bible, throw the Mormon crap away. We are told of false idols and profits. They have a false profit, the only way to Heaven is through Jesus, not through that moron who decide to add his chapters to fulfill his ego"

If a christian knows that some parts of another christian holy book (of course not his!) are flawed and that they were added because of someone's ego, doesn't that christian accept the idea that some parts of his own holy book were added for the same reasons?
How can you know the bible is the true word of god? Others claim that other books are the truth and the word of god, what arguments made you "know" your religion is true?

This question is not for everyone... basicly, just for those who "know the truth". I want to know their truth too

I am a Christian, and when people ask me if I believe that my way is the only way, and I tell them that I believe that it is the only way, they often get offended. Why are people like this? Call me crazy, but if you didn't believe that your "way" was right, why would you be believing it?

Why? Why after God made laws over thousands of years were they suddenly fulfilled by Jesus? Did God have them wrong all this time? Did God just waste the first half of his Kingdom with useless Laws? Why didn't he just start off with Jesus' laws from the get go?

Its funny how religion obsecures reality perception.Heres what I mean. Suppose Islam wasnt considered a "religion", how would you then describe a culture where:

* The woman are separated from the men.

* Everything associated with feminity is literally stripped out of the society. No pictures of the female form anywhere ever. Articles like skirts, perfume, high heels, make-up are almost non-existent, and considered to be "wrong" by the vast majority.

* All heterosexual expression (kissing, hand holding, dancing, flirting, etc), outside the hidden and embarassed confines of the marriage houshold, are strictly prohibted and/or criminalized.

* Men commonly hold hands with men, but again, any such expression by between men and woman is majorly frowned upon.

* You could literally go months without ever seeing a woman, outside the timid and blanketed ghost people we assume are woman underneath.

why do christians prefer Jews over Muslims even when we muslims believe, respect, and love Jesus, as one of the part of their faith and accept him as a Messiah and one of the mightiest prophet of God. On the contrary Jews abuse Jesus and declare him as false prophet, and insult his mother, which is very offending to Muslims too.
