You're right. All this talk about being open-minded is ridiculous. When you find The Truth you stick with it. It's impossible for all religions to be right. If they don't like your answer to their question, that is their problem. No one said we have to agree.
God Bless.

When it comes to religion and politics, people are usually very offended whe someone does not think EXACTLY as they do. Even among the Christians, some Christians will say that one congregation of people are not real Christians since they see certain parts of the Bible differently. Some are offended if your Church uses or do not use musical intruments. Others are offended if your church holds worship services on a different day of the week than they do. Why do Christians have 3 or 4 Churches within a half mile of eachother when they all supposedly believe in the same Jesus Christ? Look at the money they could save if they worked together in one group instead of bad mouthing eachother because of having a different name on the sign out front. I have learned to keep silent at work when religion and politics are discussed. People act like you have insulted thier mother when they find out that you do not belive like they do. Then there are those that go door to door with that "watchtower" book and those who wear the black suit and white shirt and tie, riding bicycles who believe they are right and all others are wrong. Some who focus on the commandment to keep the 7th day (Saturday), but may forget the other 9 commandments by the way. Some who stand and pray to a stone cold lifeless statue or pray to dead people rather than to God or Jesus. No offense intended to anyone.
The Islamics interpret their own book so different that they are killing eachother. The people in Northern Ireland who call themselves Catholics and Protestants who both also supposedly believe in Jesus Christ killed and maimed many of eachother...I really don't get it. Clue me in, PLEASE!

Jesus said He is the way, the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father but by him. The Spirit says that there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved. Jesus said he was the door, the only door, to be saved. Those who believe in the blessed Savior will be saved by his grace. Those who disbelieve will not see our lovely Savior. He is the only way because He is the only one worthy enough to die for all the sins of the world and satisfy God's divine justice so that we sinners can be declared righteous. Every other way leaves man in his sin without the benefit of Jesus at the judgment. Look at all the procedures called out by the blueprint in building an airplane. You'd better believe there is only one way to do the standard work. Only one way. There are many more examples of only one way in the technological and engineering fields. No one questions that. Yet, God says this is the way, choose it; people go ape with unbelief. Seems to me that God has more clout than a room full of engineers.

You seem to be confusing questions. "is your way the only way?" is not the same as "is your way right?" I believe my way is right, but that's doesn't mean it is the only right way.
The weirder thing in your story is why people would ask you a question and then get offended because you honestly answered them. They seem to be looking for a fight.

I am a Christian too, and that happens quite often.
I honestly can't tell you why they do that. It might be like...well, they believe in something different than you, so when you say yours (ours, actually) is the only way, what's going through their head could be something like, "so, you're calling MY beliefs completley wrong?"
You could always just pray and ask God to show you what you need to know.
Good Luck! =)

People often act offended at anything that a Christian says. People are uncomfortable because when meeting a Christian, they are reminded that something is missing in their lives. They are reminded, even if the Christian does not say anything about it at all, that they are sinners. And this makes them feel uncomfortable. So, to make themselves feel better, they lash out at us.

We all have our own belief systems of some kind and you are right, if we didn't believe it was right we wouldn't believe it. What we do need to do, though, is acknowledge that other people have other belief systems and allow them to have them. It's called religious tolerance, and it extends to those who don't consider themselves religious.
If we were all more tolerant, there would be a lot less armed conflict and innocent suffering.

We live in a relativism age. Basically the excepted society belief is everything anyone believes is true...which is a really nice way of saying that there is no truth..which is what Satan would much rather have people believe then actually pursuing and supporting a truth.
Thats why today's waterdown Christians are so ineffective because they are so affraid to actually take a stand for something now days

Confused... you would do well to acquaint yourself with a great website called "gotquestions.org." It answers LOTS of questions and addresses many issues from a Christian perspective. It is authoritative and never uses "insulting" or "condemning" language. As for your question, please refer to the article cited below regarding the issue of a "Universal Truth." This is the question you are asking, afterall, and they have provided a good and complete answer to it.
Have a blessed day.

People are generally fairly tolerant, and the arrogance of christians, who insist that only THEY know the right way, is often offensive.
You must consider that millions of people think you're wrong - all the Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, etc. think that they are right, but they don't send out their people to bang on your front door and tell you about their "truths".
