Is the world 6 billion years old as the scientists say or 6 thousand years old as the Bible says?

Lesbian & Gay Christian Movement Prayer

God, whose love and compassion extends to all without distinction of sex or sexuality

We offer you our lives and experiences as gay men, bisexuals and lesbian women

Help us to play our special part in your work of redeeming love for all people

Give us strength to carry your love into a world that may reject or ignore us

May we journey with Christ in faith and truth and justice trusting in your eternal love

We remember in prayer
*
The Church - that your concern for love, justice and freedom may be honoured by the community of faith
*
Lesbians and gay men throughout the world, especially those facing hatred, injustice or imprisonment; the lonely, isolated and confused; the poor and hungry; the elderly, the sick and bereaved; that they may know themselves to be acceptable and accepted
*
Those we love, especially our partners, our parents, our families and friends, that our love may be a reflection of your creation
*
Those who seek to hurt us, that their hearts may be changed
*
Ourselves - that we may be ready to respond in love to the needs of our gay brothers and sisters and all your creation
*
Lord in your mercy

Hear our prayer

What is an unforgivable sin? I did something bad while knowing that I would be forgiven at the end even if I committed the sin. I heard blaspheming the holy spirit is an unforgivable sin. Is this an unforgivable sin? What can I do to be forgiven? Help me please!!

So you made it to heave and St. Peter is like, "good job." "However, most people are going to hell and we are going to need workers to chunk their sorry souls in." Would you be willing to throw people into the firery abyss to burn for eternity?

Why were they killed ?

2007-10-13 21:31:54 · 8 answers · asked by Isabella 6

Should a victim be satisfied if the person who did them wrong is convicted, trialed and sent to jail or executed. Are they shallow or weak minded if they think the punishment doesn't fit the crime. What would you say if a victim's family ask why did this happen to my loved one? Why should they accept or be satisfied with your answer? Is it apportiate to tell the victim family that the person who did this was abused or had a chemical imbalance? Should they feel less angry or hurt because of this.

What allows us, relative to our own religious values/beliefs, to say that they are the “right” values/beliefs, when there are so many others?
(Note that each religion also thinks theirs are just as “right”)

Has someone possibly achieved some sort of magical theory which allows us to judge between the codes/beliefs of different religions, to say one is “better” than another? or are we simply being stubborn children arguing that "mine is better than yours"?

Without using religion or mentioning God. If someone is deeply hurt by another man, and that person was nice to that person and they ask you why they did it, what do you say? Are they suppose to ignore these questions?

If a family loved one is murdered by another man and the details of the case are unspeakable. Is just saying that they had a chemical imbalance suitable for them. Should be satisified if the such person is trialed in court and sent to jail. Should they stop questioning why they did this to their loved ones even if said person was put to death by the death penality.

If they can't stop themselves from asking why, even after the person is convicted and/or put to death, is that person weak minded for still pondering about it.

Should you stop feeling pain and hurt from a wrong done onto you, if the person who did you wrong goes to court and the issue is settled in court.

Remember do not use religion or God to answer this.
Thanks.

If your religion has led you to hate and abhor followers of other faiths without discrimination, then you are stripped of your humanity.
What led us to be so STUPID and INHUMAN that we blatantly ABHOR followers of other faiths without knowing them personally?

Or are ONLY Christians allowed to disown their fanatics.

Hundreds of Churches openly support the Bush/Cheney policies which have resulted in thousands of innocent deaths.......

Do all Christians need to answer for his actions ??

Like Christians expect all Muslims to answer for Osamas actions.....

Who is the #1 Neocon Goddess ?

"We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity." -- Anne Coulter, Christian "Peace" Activist

Conquer,Convert or kill them.

Christians say Muslims teach and preach hate and yet Anne Coulter is a favorite for news talk and tv programs.......

Why the double standard ?

I also think bann should be on teachings of bible which says that non-christians are sinners, etc.

Sounds like an Evangelical TACTIC against Muslims ........

SCAPEGOATING = A tactic often employed is to characterize an entire group of individuals according to the unethical or immoral conduct of a small number of individuals belonging to that group, also known as guilt by association. The Jews were singled out in Nazi propaganda during the 20th century. The Muslims are scheduled for the 21st century.

"The efficiency of the truly national leader consists primarily in preventing the division of the attention of the people, and always in concentrating it on a single enemy." Adolf Hitler, in "Mein Kampf".

What is the proper care for my "Atheist detecting radar"? When I walking pass someone and my radar goes off, how do I know if it is the person to the left of me or the right of me. I want to hurl a "Go to hell" in the right direction.

Now for bible thumping and waving. Do I wave and thump in a up and down direction, or a left and righ direction? If I don't happen to have one of my one hundred bibles with me, what can i use in substitution.

Can I put my converting water in a squirt bottle? Never know when I have to start converting those atheist that I detected with my radar. When it rains outside, how do I know which atheist hasn't been converted yet by the thousands of believers who ran outside to start the converting?

Some nonchristians have stated keep religion in church or at home. Is this because you feel we shouldnt be allowed to speak of Jesus in public (parks, malls, city streets) etc or just not in schools/govt buildings to maintain separation of church/state? Please clarify

Luke 16
The Rich Man and Lazarus
19"There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. 20At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores 21and longing to eat what fell from the rich man's table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.

22"The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23In hell,[c] where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24So he called to him, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.'

25"But Abraham replied, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. 26And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.'

27"He answered, 'Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father's house, 28for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.'

29"Abraham replied, 'They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.'

30" 'No, father Abraham,' he said, 'but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.'

31"He said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.' "

How can people be so blind? This makes me sad because I have a family member that has fallen away into atheism. I don't know what to do.

Only by accepting Jesus can your sins be washed away. I heard the analogy before that non-Christians are like people drowning at sea. If someone throws them a floatation device and they REFUSE to take it and drown, they have no one to blame but themselves. Likewise, God does not send non-Christians to Hell, they send themselves.

I don't want my brother to go to Hell for not accepting Jesus. At times this may seem unfair to me as to why God would do this. I realize though that we are ALL sinners and we ALL deserve Hell, yet God loved the world so much that if we accept the sacrifice of Jesus, our sins might be washed clean.

It is not a hard thing to do, yet I sometimes wonder about how fair this all seems. I know it is the truth because I have faith.

I just feel uneasy about it sometimes.

What can I do to get over this feeling?

The question is simple. Try to answer the question instead of going off on some tangent. Don't rant. Answer the question. The question is:

"If Hitler was a real Christian, is Osama a real Muslim?"

Acceptable answers will contain either the words YES or NO, and most likely be followed by an explaination why they either believe YES, or NO.

Here's the question one more time for those of you who are still confused:

"If Hitler was a real Christian, is Osama a real Muslim?"

Don't forget to include a YES or a NO in you answer.
