Some individuals have given credence to this book and believe it should be included within the Bible canon.
It's interesting to note that the tetragrammaton, God's holy name, was not mentioned once in this copy. All 66 books that make up the Holy Scriptures and inspired of God use his holy name, now replaced by LORD in many translations. The Greek scriptures allude to and quote from many of the Hebrew inspired books which mention God's Holy name.

Question: What other reasons do those who have read this uncannonized book and compared it to the BIble are convinced it is not inspired of God the Almighty?

Congrats on winning the Nobel Peace Prize and until today I thought he should run for President, but his anti-atheist stance in a country that prides itself on freedom of religion (and freedom FROM religion) troubles me.

Have you seen this (from a March 2007 article)

A California congressman is breaking a longstanding taboo by declaring himself a nonbeliever. Fortney "Pete" Stark Jr., an 18-term Democratic veteran of the House, made the unusual declaration after being queried by secular groups running a contest to find the highest-ranking atheist in American politics.

*in its early states, (which is now) uses fear to control people
*introduces a new concept of beliefs about the world around us
*makes money off of selling things it shouldn't really have the right to do so (carbon foot prints)
*They have their messah (Al gore)
*he sacrificed his political life for global warming (maybe not, but he sure wasted a lot of time on nothing)
*completely faith based since their are "scientists" saying that global warming is correct, and many others saying it is not

So why does global warming have its own section when the religion and spirituality section would do it fine?

Since the U.S. Congress and Senate is filled with over 500 intelligent and rational people, what are the odds that not a single one is an atheist? - or is it that they know that such an admission would be political suicide?

Please do not tell me that the only reason is because they go door to door.

Or that they do not celibrate christmas or other holidays..

Most religions are about the same. They want their people to hang around other people of that faith.. They think their religion is the right one and everyone elses is just wrong.

Could it be that they do not believe in hell..? Ever ask them why they do not believe in hell..? You might find it interesting..

To call them a cult is just not fail and down right mean..

If you define it as a Cult then most if not all religions are cults.

I would like a REAL adult reason as to why someone does not like them..

while
Some Christians are accused of thinking they are better because they are morally superior (which I think it rather circular)

Do you and your SO share different religious beliefs?
If so does it cause any problems?
Do you respect/accept/support him/her in their choice?

Did your parents come from different beliefs?
Did it work out?
Did it influence your current beliefs?

If none of the above apply to you.......Would you date/marry someone who holds a different religious standpoint from you?
Why or Why not?

Example ~ My mother is Atheist while my father is a Christian and yet they are still happily married.

If you are religious and believe in the bible do you believe that this happened literaly?,

1. Jonah was swallowed by a giant fish and lived in his stomach for 3 days?
2. Angels watched the women of earth and came down and had sex with them that created giants?

Just wondering. I have heard it is all true, end of discussion but I have also heard they are teaching stories, not to be taken literal. But how do you know then? There are many stories and lessons in the Bible, who decides when it is a teaching tale or truth?

Witnesses as a whole firmly believe - at least they must verbalize they firmly believe - that the Watchtower is God's ONLY organization and is directed by Him; for this reason, the many changed teachings are of no small importance.

I need to keep it extremely simple, and make sure I don't insult her religion in the process.
