Do you and your SO share different religious beliefs?
If so does it cause any problems?
Do you respect/accept/support him/her in their choice?

Did your parents come from different beliefs?
Did it work out?
Did it influence your current beliefs?

If none of the above apply to you.......Would you date/marry someone who holds a different religious standpoint from you?
Why or Why not?

Example ~ My mother is Atheist while my father is a Christian and yet they are still happily married.

I do not believe in god and I married a catholic. He respects my dis beliefs as I respect his beliefs. The only point of contention is our son's religious education. I will NOT have him subjected to christian teachings. I had originally let him go to scripture until his teacher told him that god made the world and everything I had taught him about evolution and science was wrong. He now attends classes with the children of pagans as I feel their beliefs are much more conducive to a happy life than those of christianity. My husband is reasonably happy with this as his attitude now is "well, any religion is better than none at all". This has caused more problems for in laws than it has for my immediate family.

Most of my family is more or less Atheist htough my grandparents go to Church at least for Christmas. But I think that's more becasue they're used to it than for actually believeng in it.
My dad and his brothers are baptized but don't have a whole lot to do with church. We're all from the former GDR and church wasn't the most improtant thing over there.
But we moved to the west and I started singing in a protestant church choir when I was about 10. At age 13 shortly before my confirmation I was baptized because I wanted to.
Then in 2001 I met my first boyfirend (now ex) and until about two years ago I thought I would marry him. But then it didn't work out anymore. I changed to the Catholic church for this reason because he despite being Catholic didn't really take things of faith very seriously.
My new partner is Atheist and it's going really well even though some of his views annoy me a bit - sometimes. But I won't try to change him becasue you can't force anyone to believe what they don't want to. If we should get married some day (we're only together 2 months now) the only problem would be that I want to get marreid in Church which would be a bit difficult. But I think we'll work that out when time comes.
It's not about different religious beliefs or nationalities it's all about loving the other or your family/ kids.

My SO and I share the same religious beliefs.
So there are no problems.
I support them in their choice.

My parents are both Catholics.
Yes, it worked out.
I was Catholic, but changed my religion after examining the Bible.

No, I would not date/ marry someone who holds a different religious standpoint from me.
Because the Bible advises not to.

My ex-fiance was Muslim, I'm Baha'i. For Muslims, this is a big no-no. For Baha'is, marrying Muslims is fine.

My father is JW, my sister is Catholic, my mother was Catholic. When I converted to the Baha'i Faith in 2000, both sister and mother didn't like it.. However, I made sure never to criticize their religion (Catholicism). I still love Catholicism, always will.

Nowadays, my mother has passed on and my sister and I live together. We have no problems with religion. My dad and I also respect each other's religions.

I have no problem marrying someone of another religion.

I am Atheist, my husband is Agnostic, my parents are Mormon, his parents are Jehoviah's Witness...

Nope hasn't caused any problems we both respect each others right to believe as we see fit...

We have been married 11 years and are still going strong.. There are a few things we each do that irritates the other but none of them is religious based simply things, like his psychological aversion to placing dirty clothes in the hamper and my inability to share toothpaste (It simply grosses me out everyone has their own tube around here, he thinks it's quite annoying to have that many tubes open at once.)

My husband was raised in an evangelical, apostolic church and I was raised in a mainstream Protestant church.

However, neither one of us chose to continue attending those churches as adults, even though our parents still do. By the time we met one another we had both questioned the narrow doctrines of the churches in which we were raised.

We have basic beliefs in common and are raising our kids an non-denominational Christians who are free to explore other faiths, so it has not really been a problem for us.

My husband came from a background of Bible Thumpin' drunks who forced their beliefs on him and his siblings. He therefore disliked all organized religions. He had his own spirituality though just had no need or desire to go to church of any kind.

I was born and raised true blue mormon.

We got together and have a great relationship. Recently Ive come to realize my church was full of lies and deceit and have left it.

We now have found a faith together that we are happy to be a part of and it has made our lives even better.
