Have you seen this (from a March 2007 article)

A California congressman is breaking a longstanding taboo by declaring himself a nonbeliever. Fortney "Pete" Stark Jr., an 18-term Democratic veteran of the House, made the unusual declaration after being queried by secular groups running a contest to find the highest-ranking atheist in American politics.

Good for him. Finally an honest politician.

He's in a pretty safe district for that sort of declaration. The twenty or so people turned off by his atheism were already voting Republican.

Even so, I'd prefer Christian politicians who defend freedom of religion properly to atheist statists.

No never heard this but it is good to see an Atheist politician. At least there will be someone in the government that might do there job properly.
No offence in tended, it's just everyone else is thinking of the Bible, when they should be concentrating on other things.

Although it wouldn't be good for the world I do believe it would play into the end of time prophesy. The world is winding down as we know it. What I believe will happen to America is this. I think all would agree that they are the strongest country. No one outside of America can destroy them so I believe it will happen from within. Look at how ununified Americans are. They are so greedy and hateful and jealous of each other that they are destroying their own. I think that is why the USA is not mentioned in the Bible in the end times
