Maybe you should listen to them for a visit and see what you think then. I would read the book, and then pray about it. You have heard this from other members of the church here, and it's we tell everyone to do. God will not lead you astray. If you are meant to be in this church, and if you feel it is what you believe, then continue with the discussions and keep reading. If you don't feel it's for you after that point, let the missionaries know, politely, that you don't think it is for you. You can still keep the book, and continue to read it. Nothing wrong with reading.
Just to clarify- the Book of Mormon isn't another bible, it isn't taken from the bible, and isn't adding or taking away from the bible. The scripture that is used is about Revelation ONLY!!! Revelation wasn't the last book written, not even by the author of that book. It certainly wasn't the last book written by people who really knew Christ, and it was just stuck at the end of the bible because it sounded good there.
Also, you will hear a lot of things about the church that are either not true, or only partial truths mixed with non truth. You will also get a lot of flack from people about the church. People fear what they don't understand, and they are willing to believe anything anyone says about something, without checking things out for themselves, or hearing from someone who really does know. And no, people who have left the church aren't a good source of info. They usually have an ax to grind and are more then happy to tell you about it. Get your info from people who know, like me. I would be glad to answer any questions you have. At least that way, you are getting it straight from the horses mouth!! Good luck to you, and I hope you find some truth!!!

Speaking as one who's been there, done that with doing what the Missionaries are doing, a polite no thank you goes a long way when you truly aren't interested. Contrary to what some have said, it doesn't truly cost you to decide you want to get out - it's a simple procedure.
Seeing as you have already had contact, I would suggest reading the book, think on it (pray if you feel inclined) then meet with the missionaries a couple more times. But please, if you decide you don't want anything to do, say so! I can't say the number of times I knew someone was just listening to be nice, and they weren't interested. We don't want to trouble you and make you wonder if you're wasting your time (or theirs). If there is anything that you'd like to know - feel free to email me and I'll answer what I can, and find the answers if I don't know it.

WOW! You opened a can of worms with this question. Be nice first off. Maybe offer them some water, after all, they have probably been on bikes. Open the Book of Mormon to Moroni 10: 3-5 and read it. We refer to this passage of scripture as Moroni's promise. After you read it, get down on your knees and in the name of Jesus, ask Heavenly Father if this is His book. Is it of Him? Make sure that your heart is pure and sincere. You will receive an answer. Some feel peace while some feel all tingly (like I did). Read the book. It is about the prophet Lehi (from Jerusalem) and his family. Lehi was preaching to the Jews about repenting and that Jerusalem was going to be destroyed. He was warned in a dream to flee. (Sorta like Joseph and Mary). The Book of Mormon is a record/journal of this family and their descendants. Lehi had 4 sons at the time; Laman (oldest), Lemuel, Nephi, and Sam. The first 2 were pretty bad. Like to get into trouble and goof off. The younger 2 were very good and listened to their father and the commandments. Contention started...and so on. The Book of Mormon cover about 1000 years. It is awesome. It is beautiful. You will feel the spirit when you read it.
Good luck. Check out the church's website. Stay away from the Mormon haters. They are just repeating viscious rumors.

Listen to them.
Then go back and double check everything they tell you.
This would be true if they were Mormons, Moonies, or Aliens.
Keep an open mind until you close it around the truth.
Even if you don't accept the faith be kind. They are very young (just out of high school) and far from home.

You should do what your heart and faith tell you. If you read the book and it makes sense to you and coincides with the majority of your beliefs then yes. If you read the book and it doesn't seem to be the same as how you feel about faith then no. Do some research and soul searching and see what you think about it.

If your are curious, make a commitment to yourself to go for a month and to re-access if it is a good fit for you. I would also spend some time in other faith based gatherings, so you can get a feel for if it fits with you. Ask the tough questions to the leaders before making your final decision- the ones that for you are deal makers or deal breakers .

What can it hurt to listen to them? They simply ask that you listen to a message they wish to share with you and have invited you to read the Book of Mormon. All they ask is for you to listen and read, so I say go for it!

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormonism) is a beautiful Christian religion, but you should be extremely careful when trying to learn about Mormons from others. There are many who hate the Mormons and spread lies, distortions, and conspiracy theories about them. Others think they understand Mormon doctrine because of "what they've heard," but are actually misinformed. I think learning about Mormonism from actual Mormons (from Mormon missionaries, from Mormon members, or from sites created and maintained by Mormons on the Internet) is much better than trusting second-hand information.
I highly recommend learning about Mormonism from Mormon missionaries. If you loose interest in Mormonism, you only need politely ask the missionaries to leave. If your interest is maintained, Mormonism might just change your life. It certainly has changed mine for the better.
Here's a list of pro-Mormon sites with accurate information, in case you're interested:

To read any book is not a sin.
But take everything with a pinch of salt.
Everybody is convinced to possess the Truth and tries to convince others.

Having a vaste coulture and knowing about many religions is not a bad thing, especially when you learn straight from the source. It gives you the power to make right decisions. But in order to do that, you have to learn a bit about many religions, not just mormons, otherwise you can't compare
