Its funny how religion obsecures reality perception.Heres what I mean. Suppose Islam wasnt considered a "religion", how would you then describe a culture where:
* The woman are separated from the men.
* Everything associated with feminity is literally stripped out of the society. No pictures of the female form anywhere ever. Articles like skirts, perfume, high heels, make-up are almost non-existent, and considered to be "wrong" by the vast majority.
* All heterosexual expression (kissing, hand holding, dancing, flirting, etc), outside the hidden and embarassed confines of the marriage houshold, are strictly prohibted and/or criminalized.
* Men commonly hold hands with men, but again, any such expression by between men and woman is majorly frowned upon.
* You could literally go months without ever seeing a woman, outside the timid and blanketed ghost people we assume are woman underneath.

So much of this is cultural traditions masquerading as a religion.
I do agree that there is a strong homoerotic undercurrent in radical Muslim culture - what kind of guy never wants to see women ever? Plus the men spend all their time together, taking steam baths and getting massages - sounds like San Francisco!
And this is from a religion that dictates the death penalty for homosexuality! Sounds like a lot of repressed self-hatred to me.

Cultural norms on sexuality vary, and have varied, quite a bit over all the various cultures that have existed on Earth. The more fundamentalist islamic sects are at the extreme end of the scale in their puritanism and repression of women, but not totally off scale. Further, I don't expect that their influence in the world will increase very much more than it has.
I've often thought that Islamic fundamentalists should be allowed to really set up an "ideal" Islamic state, that could then be isolated and contained like Communist states were behind the Iron Curtain. I doubt it would last more than a few decades, because in reality no one actually wants to live under Sharia law in its most fundamental form. The only way to convince the fanatics that this is true is to actually let them try it. Even Saudi Arabia is reforming its judicial system away from ad hoc interpretation of the Quran by independent clerics, toward a more codified system of laws.

What you are describing does not fall into heterosexual norms by modern Western standards, but historically these traits are quite common for hetero-dominant cultures. The separation of men and women, hiding the female form, making heterosexual expression taboo in public...many of these things are similar to Victorian-era values. The exception perhaps would be the handholding, but as many social thinkers have observed, "homosocial behavior" is quite consistent with patriarchy and heteronormativity.

a million. Taxpayers, shoppers, and corporations might must subsidize gay relationships. two. Public faculties might begin instructing gay relationships are equal to heterosexual ones. three. Freedom of moral sense and devout liberty might be threatened. four. Fewer humans will marry. (hence getting rid of marriage altogether) five. Fewer humans will probably be monogamous and sexually devoted (elevating charges of STDs) 6. Fewer humans will probably be married for a life-time. 7. Fewer kids will probably be raised by means of a father and mother. ( a correct of the little one that each person comfortably ignores) eight. More kids might develop up fatherless (elevating charges of crime) nine. Birth charges might fall 10. Demands for polygamous relationships and different forms of relationships (minors, animals, and many others) might expand.

Excuse me mind if I ask what is your question?
If the questions is "Will Islam's assault on heterosexual norms bring an end to hetero-dominant cultures? " Then the answer is no.
If the point of you being on here is to have a rant then, then please put in your question (having a rant).
Either way get your facts right before you start typing nonsense. I'm not a Muslim, but all I see is Muslims this and Muslims that, ever thought of trying to find out the truth instead of listening to fanatics like Osama bin Laden, Al-Qaeda, George Bush and the so called press like CNN?
Your name is a bit laughable you call yourself Truth Seeker, maybe you should rename yourself to The Popular Lackey.

All religion is nonsense. Why try to point one out as any worse than another. What are Heterosexual norms? Every culture on Earth have their own ideas as to what are heterosexual norms. Why do you think you have the answers?

Another sad example of how religion can warp the mind.
Many believers will look at this and think "well, MY faith is not like that." And they will not be able to see the way their faith is warped.

Except for the fact that you will be killed if you (a man) engage in any sexual activity with a man.
How does that work out with your theory?
