Why do many churches believe that tithing siset at the end of the Old Testament?
Can someone show me in scripture where God said to stop your tithing?
It speaks of tithing in Mathews 23:23, while referring to something else.
God set a standard to tithe and most churches do not follow this standard, they donate with a big check with their name on it. They blow their own trumpet, how great they are but God will prophet you nothing. You obtained your reward but not from God. If you do not pay your tithes, God will get it out of you one way or the other. If you pay your tithes diligently, you be covered by God, when something comes up and need money.

There seem to be an awful lot of questions that are directed at atheists in this section that are science related. Atheism is a lack of belief in God(s) and is nothing more. There is no big bang or evolution involved. These things are only personal thoughts of an individual.

Last week I visited someone who bitterly complained about how a judge should not have "legislated" that Terry Schaivo be "murdered," among other things.

She wasn't aware that several judges, in separate opinions, found that her husband, not her parents, had the legal right to make the decision about continuing her life support.

She doesn't know the difference between making a judicial legal finding and passing a law (those liberal judges who "legislate from the bench," you know).

She thinks scientists lie about evolution just to discredit Christianity and the Bible.

She believes the best source for news is Pat Robertson's CBN, because they tell you things the other news media won't (like how, in the public schools, they encourage young children to have sex and teach them how to masturbate).

And here's the really scary part - this woman almost has her Master's degree in education and wants to be a teacher for young children.

Does this scare you as much as it does me?

I ask this because I'm becoming more and more confused as a Christian as to what to believe as well as what not to believe in terms of Mary, Jesus whether or not he's just the son of God and a servant who came to die on the cross or if he's God the Son and in terms of the trinity.

Suppose it turns out the anti-Christ is alive right now and is a well-known celebrity...who do you think it is? Madonna? Al Gore? Marylin Manson? Somebody else?

I really only want the opinions of true Born-Again Christians who believe in the concept of an anti-Christ. Thank you in advance for edifying me.

in regards to people like Derren Brown etc who can successfully cold read and emulate psychic readings
does being able to emulate something mean that whatever it is being emulated is not true ?

I am just a little fed up seeing this type of answer in regards to whether or not psychics are real
by all means say that you dont believe or have no reason to believe because you havent had any proof personally
but dont you think saying that because a magician can do it ... it is all fake ... is just a little bit of a cop out ?

In Heaven would they have these kind of activities such as amusement parks, rock concerts, and water and jet skis and also in Heaven would God give us a mansion?

Also in Heaven would we have lots of nice clothes to wear?

Since me and my friends don't have alot of money nor do we own a vehicle what I would like to do in Heaven is go water and jet skiing with my friends at a river and ride on the rides they have at the amusement parks cause I highly doubt that I'll ever be able to do those kind of fun activities with my friends here on Earth.

I do love God and Jesus and I have them in my hearts.

Science views the world and us in it in a very mechanistic way. Life is defifined as a process, the functioning of the human as a complex mechanism existing with in the highly organised, complex system of the planets biospheres and ecosystems. To science man is a pre programmed mechanism whose experiences, thoughts, desire, feelings and intelligence is predetermined by genetic programming that limits your ability to respond in any given environment. There is no such thing as freedom of will, just the illusion, which is also genetically predetermined. Who and how you love is not your choice but determined by inherent chemisty.

Religion and spirituality on the other hand sees man as a being whose reach goes far beyond the physical and who was created as an act of love by a loving and caring God who strives to encourage all it's creation to aim for an eternal paradise. Religon sees man as having a choice to decide to be good or not, to choose heaven or hell, to believe in God or no

OK.

Our professor wants to know what we would do if we had a time machine and went back in time to find Jesus, or Paul, or any of the Apostles.

We go back in time and find out that Jesus was just an ordinary guy who had a wife and did magic tricks, and that Paul was busy creating a religion so he could cause trouble.

In other words, we saw it all first hand, and you meet Mary and she laughs when you ask her about a virgin birth, and you go back to all the miraculous events of the Bible and find out that they are actually exaggerations and that you couldn't verify any miracle - not the flood, not noah, not a pilar of fire, not adam and eve, not walking on water - nothing!
In fact, you learn that Christianity evolved into the story it is today through forgeries and manipulation!

Q:1. Pretend this all really happened
2. How would your life change.?

if the G man is as great as every1 says then y did he even created a tree that gets u kicked out of paradise and how could he blame man for eating an apple when he created everything. if god exsists then absolutely everything that people do is his fault. he created frre will and what it makes people do.

They say a bad craftsman blames his tools.

Atheism is not a religion, just like theism is not a religion. It is not a set of beliefs as religion is defined. Religions such as Christianity and Judaism claim to follow the teaching of God. These teachings are the religion, God is not the religion.

I am so glad and happy that my sweet Jesus has shown me how to live a sinless life!

I have never broken a single commandment and my thoughts are pure as snow. I have loved Jesus since I was born and am anointed to preach the Gospel of Jesus!

Jesus Loves you and if you don't believe in Him you are going to Hell! I feel bad for you, but cannot feel but so bad, because it is Jesus' will that you go to Hell if you do not believe what is said about Him!!!

People who do not believe that a virgin gave birth, that Jesus walked on water and performed miracles and that the Bible is the only ABSOLUTE TRUTH in existence are going to boil in Hell forever!

Believe me, brothers... You can live a perfect life - Jesus said, be ye perfect as I am perfect.... and it IS POSSIBLE!!! Through the blood of the risen savior! Come join me in PERFECTNESS!!

This story seems to be hushed in the San Francisco area and everywhere.

I only caught the ending of the story on the Bill O'Reilly show last night.

Gay activists in San Francisco are caught on tape mocking the Catholic Church... right there inside a church!

Do you know of a website to read more on this?

There is no mention of this on any online San Francisco newspaper.

I found this very disrespectful and disgusting.....whether it happened in a Catholic Church or in any place of any worship.
