Does he, for instance, ever do something with the intention of spreading evil, but, because he's incompetent, inadvertently ends up spreading good, for good people?

Or is he perfect all of the time?

Yes, I've seen Miroslav Satan of the National Hockey League turn over the puck at center ice while going the wrong way. Good thing he's such a fast skater, since he can backcheck well.

I recently heard that on a atheist show on channel twelve that the atheists were saying that the Bible is wrong because certain believers teach that there is a pre-tribulation rapture and Mat 24:21-22, when it explains that for the sake of the elect the great tribulation is cut short it is explaining that the believers will still be here during the great tribulation. However, it is the pre-tribulation teachers that are wrong and the Bible is correct. In this case, while Satan is using the pre-tribulation misinformation he started to claim that the Bible is wrong, he is actually providing the Bible insight why the pre-tribulation teaching is wrong. I recently met a Christian who caught hold of this insight while watching this show and became enlighted as to the fact that there is no pre-tribulation rapture in the Bible. Although Satan was not teaching the insight the insight was recognized by this individual. This occurs in AA meetings as well. While the instructors are refering to their higher power, occasionally Jesus reveals Himself to certain attendees and they become believers in Jesus the Christ. When Jesus pulls the rug out from under the USA and there is economic disaster there will be many that are saved, who will not be able to believe if this does not occur. As it is written all things work for the good of those that love Jesus. Believe in Jesus and you will not have to experience the final stage of death, which is the second death. Don't wait because we are getting closer to the mark of the beast, which if you take it you will not be able to be saved thereafter.
Mat 24:21 “For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will. 22 “Unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.

I agree with J B123 when he says that the only mistake satan made was going up against god. He made the biggest mistake when he convinced the 1/3 of heaven to be evil and go against god. To answer your other question no he does not spread good, he is completely evil and always will be, you never see a good murder or a good alcohol addiction.

He made that one move that didn't pan out so well for him and his followers, but I would have to say, all in all, he has held his own in this world. Remember, he doesn't spread evil, but tempts mankind to do so. He has been doing a brisk business since man's time began.

Satan is far from perfect. He is the father of lies, a deceiver, manipulator, and evil incarnate. He desired power and glory that was not his to have, so that was his first and fatal mistake.

His first and biggest mistake was being disobedient to God and will be ever so regretting at the very end

God is perfect, not Satan. Satan is the father of lies.
God will use any bad thing in our lives for the further purpose of his kingdom.

I think one big mistake he made was to crucify Christ. Only good came of that for us Christians.
His biggest mistake possiblywas trying to take God'd place and got him and 1/3 of the Angels booted out of heaven and is going to get him torrmented, BIG TIME!!

Satan does evil things all the time, but God can take those evil events and turn them into good. And Satan is far from perfect.
