I have a few questions about your religion, both Asatru and Hellenic Polytheists.

1. What religion do you follow? Is that what you prefer it be called? (I've heard lots of different names)

2. How were you led to your religion?

3. What do you think when people refer to the story of your Gods as myths? Have you ever confronted somebody about it?

4. Is it true that a lot of people join your religion simply to rebel, rather than for true belief? how do you feel about this, if true?

5. Do you have a specific name for the building you meet in?

6. Do you speak any Old Norse/ Ancient Greek?

7. Do you consider Odin to be the same as Zeus? Are they the same as the God of other religions?

Any other interesting info would be nice.

As for why I'm asking this, I'm interested in other religions, and these two are quite different from the rest due to their being reconstructed.

I think it was last week, that someone asked a question about atheism! One of you, or more gave a list of books to read! One was "The God Delusion'!
I thought that I had bookmarked the question, so I could write down the names, but I didn't! I am a fledgling atheist, and need some guidance, and beside the main theme, no deities, I want the history of atheism! Could you please give the titles again?
I would like more in depth information about atheism!
Thanks for your help!!!!!

lol & peace

I only ask because I can't blindly accept certain things. I suppose I am trying to find some answers to the things that stop me believing.

Rather than being afraid of a genuine question, Christians should be pleased to help people with these matters. So far the insults are only succeeding in pushing me away from Christianity.

He could have come right after the Garden of Eden episode and then Adam and Eve and their children could've been baptised right away! If He had to die in order to save us, Cain could've taken Judas's place; after all, he already had a propensity towards murder (Jesus could've saved Abel by taking his place!) Why in the name of Sam Hill would God choose to wait thousands of years to send the Savior? Instead, millions of non-Jews died without ever having a chance to hear of Jesus and get baptised because He hadn't come yet! Presumably, all those people went to Hell, or else Christ's sacrifice wasn't neccessary!

I mean come on, he gave them wings but then them so small that they couldn't even fly. And then, to add insult to injury, he placed them in an environment full of flying birds. Atleast other non-flying birds, like the penguin and ostrich, have alternatives. Penguins and swim and ostriches can run, but poor kiwis can just walk around.

Why would God play such a cruel joke on these harmless creatures? :(

thus God of heaven( h) e a \v/ sealed together e n. I(number I)
sort of seems heaven is a slogan like from the movie "Escape from New York" "Duke of New York, Hey No. I"
note God= h proven on My blog, and God Jehovah using same logic would be equal to e, thus second in heaven not first. guess the rest of the world could hate Me for allowing a jew to be second when their are a 1000 over races to pick from. Sort of feeling like Schindler who kissed a Jew and was jailed for it (re-printed without permission for the makers of the movie). And if you draw bodies for the picture "h" and the picture "n" of heaven it lookes like h and n are carrying a casket. n has only part of one arm missing. then you see heaven was a place in time when h e(was) a v(5 years) e(e in the casket) n(end). Which is a true story of h(Me) because Me and My one armed grandfather buried My father. So bearing the \v/ sealed together arm and being V when e n('d) forgive Me if i feel like the God of heaven, ok

People say it's crazy that moses split a sea with a staff, but couldn't it also be viewed as "it's crazy that we "evolved" from monkeys"
weren't you guys the one that said seeing is believing? i'm sure you've never seen a monkey turn human

and if my question is different from what i usual ask, or is taken as critical, sorry. i'm having an off day

I noticed that whenever an Atheist posts a thread, and the Atheists answer the question, why do other people who have no relevance to the question in hand have the urge to come in and report the answers or give them bad ratings? It's pointless to argue online. No one is listening.....

isn't that the very same thing Biblicists do, saying that their belief system is the only way to be saved?

(only the difference is, the Pope didn't claim that one must be Catholic to be saved. because Catholics don't talk like Biblicists.)

It is safe to say that a person who doesn't lack inner strength, and doesn't require comfort or support (beyond what they can get from their friends and family) has no reason to become a Christian?

Hi Folks,

I have been ticked off on this site for not believing that Adam and Eve just popped up from nowhere, and that Noah could bung every species on his boat. etc. etc.
Oh dear, am I in trouble with my God for dis-beleif ?

I don't beleive that Ronald Reagan actually made a good US President either.

Please, no atheist comments.

I have found quite a few scriptures that helped me with life’s problems such as stress and depression.

How about you personally? Any scriptures helped you with the stress of work, relationships etc?

I had to read "The Bible Unearthed" for a class at school not too long ago. After that I picked up "The God Delusion" and loved it. So I'm looking for other good books on religion, either from the religious or atheist point of view. I've heard some good things about "Letter to a Christian Nation" and "God is Not Great". It you could rank you favorite books like this and maybe a quick comparison. And/or how did you like "The God Delusion", and how does it compare to other books you've read?
