I have found quite a few scriptures that helped me with life’s problems such as stress and depression.

How about you personally? Any scriptures helped you with the stress of work, relationships etc?

Ray - Wow, that’s exactly what I've done a few times before, I was never let down :)

Thank you everyone else for your answers so far, it's really appreciated!

I used to suffer badly from depression in the past (for about 5 years), but I have managed to "take control"...something which you never think you can do when you're in "that dark pit".

Hi Bambi, I agree with you in the sense that there are loads of comforting scriptures in the bible (thanks for the 1's you mentioned!), and you should read it all to "get the picture", but when someone is feeling "under the weather", it's more practical to have uplifting scriptures to hand. To be able to look at, or remember, a handful of scriptures is more beneficial that waiting for a moment where you can sit down and read the whole bible. To have a poster for example, with all those up building scriptures would be good.

I'd hardly call the 10 plagues, for example, very uplifting (LOL). You could look at those accounts with optimism (i.e. that Jehovah saves the righteous and punishes the wicked), but typically, a depressed person becomes very cynical in nature. They will even start to think that God doesn't care for them, or that they are worthless. A depressed person becomes very imbalanced, they don't always see things the way "normal" people do. Hope you see my point?:)

By the way, I'm not discouraging reading the bible in context (i.e. front to back / every page), you should have a regular bible reading schedual...BUT, it's always handy to have other upbuilding scriptures WHEN you feel down/stressed. If you are reading from the begininig of the bible, you will be constantly reading about Jehovahs judgments against the Israelites - a depressed person would do well to BALANCE oneself by ALSO reading of Gods loving nature too (not just the justice side of Him). Not saying to water it down, but this is essential for someone who is depressed because they don't always see the whole picture (i.e. God's WHOLE nature).

about 5 years ago, I started to fall into a really depressive episode. At first I thought it was only because I had a bad break from a relationship but the feelings wouldn't go away even after I got a new girlfriend. It was wrecking my life until a point where it was seriously affecting my work and personal life.

She was very worried but at the same time couldn't understand why I was still sad and thought that I still couldn't let go of my previous relationship. Being the wonderful person that she is, she put aside her feelings and suggested I go for psychiatric evaluation. Many months later and even more anti-depressants, I was not coming close to being better at all.

After doing some research online, I found out the real cause as you described it really makes a lot of sense and purchased this program. The results were simply astonishing. I read this book over three times and put all words in action. Using this method, I've kept my depression at bay ever since. Up to date I'm still living happily with my girlfriend.

Depression Free Method?

Honestly........................................
The entire Bible,
from begin., to end.

God has a personal name~
meaning He is not some unknowable mystery,
He is not far off from each 1 of us.
The promise of a seed,
to buy us back from bondage to sin & death.
Jehovah showing what He will do for mankind,
in the future; as He did when
He brought the Israelites out of Egypt.
Then the promised seed was born,
and His will was accomplished.
As it will be.
The Resurrection.
The the tent of God will be w/ mankind,
as we are brought into perfection.

As others mentioned some very comforting Scriptures,
Genesis, Job, The Psalms, Proverbs, Acts, Romans,
Matt., Mark, Luke & John; I'll stop.
Throw your burden upon Jehovah;
2 sparrows; yoke is kindly, and my load is light;
those who call upon the name of Jehovah, will be saved;
out of every nation, every tribe, and every tongue;
singing a new song;
draw close to Jehovah, and He will draw close to you;
life without end; the wicked will be no more;
be reasonable.
The Entire Bible.

Psalms 9:9---"and Jehovah will become a secure height for anyone crushed, a secure height in times of distress."

Here is how i came across this scripture--i was diagnosed with depression when i was 11 it runs ramped in our family along with bi-polar, well any way, i was having a really bad day and decided i would read a little of my bible before going to bed. On days like these i like to let Jehovah direct me to where i should read--so after saying a prayer i let my bible fall open, closed my eyes and picked a verse--this was it, lets just say i was extremely grateful that Jehovah opened my eyes to a scripture that did not have much deep meaning to me before that day.

Come to me all those who are toiling and loaded down and I will refresh you.

In Isa 9:6-7 Jesus is called a Wonderful Counselor.

Draw close to God and he will draw close to you.

Reading the sermon on the mount is very encouraging.

Mat 5,6,7.

Throw all your burdens upon Jehovah because he cares for you.

2 Cor 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those in any sort of tribulation through the comfort with which we ourselves are being comforted by God.

Psalm 91:1-12 is my favorite. This scripture has really helped me a lot, especially when I have felt that I was all alone in my distress. I love this scripture because it shows how much Jehovah truly loves us and wants to protect us from harmful things.
Praise Jah you people!

If you believe in Yasha, he is spirit, and here on earth the spirits turned wrong are cast down to and the only way to be allowed to leave earth is to be born into flesh and endure whatever life throws at you until the good angels come for you. There are some spirits that just refuse to be born into flesh but instead they go in and out of our flesh as we allow them by doing an act that hurts another living being intentionally. If they cannot get you to do wrong to another humanbeing then they use the humans they have already caused to do evil as their slaves and they connect with eachother to make your life chaotic, burdensome and filled with trials and tribulations effecting you both mentally and physically and you will feel trapped but you must endure your pain without doing evil in return. Our Savior "Yasha" told us to expect sufferings as he was suffered so will we. Keep your focus on the birth of the baby while u are going through your labor pains and this may help you as you strive to save your soul and be taken out of this world to be with others who have journeyed before you and await your arrival. Then you will no peace in your heart and be around others who feel the same. Remember what Yasha said "Without me you can do nothing" so produce fruit worthy of repentance and proove yourself worthy to enter the Kingdom of Heaven and all its glory.
