Who's this WE you're talking about? Believe me babe, but EVERYONE knows they're MORTAL. Some think they can never get killed because of their stupidity, but those are usually the first to go.

Death is an intricatley woven aspect of life.
I was up all night last night, with my best friend of almost 14 years...thinking he might not make it through the night. Again. My dear is 30 years old. He had a massive anyerism at the age of 19. I stood in the ICU with his mother and sisters and watched him die 3 times...but each time he came back to us. It seemed so unreal...but it was, cold and stark and brightly blinding.
He has been an incredible fighter and we both Live life...to its fullest, the best we can. He isn't ready to leave this world yet, but is getting very tired of the pain of his body.
When his time does come to leave, there will be no hospital...he will pass surrounded by those friends which have become his family...unafraid, for he has been there before.
I think that mindset of not thinking of death is only for the very young...unless they are touched by death at a young age.
In the teen years (at least in my experience) there does seem to be a strange compulsion to try and "cheat" death...what with reckless behaviors...perhaps if you don't think of it, it won't happen to you right?
Live life like you mean it. Love, laugh, dance, cry, always make sure you let your loved ones know how you feel... and when it is time to move on, do it knowing you lived as completely as you possibly could.

Most people in the United States don't see death around them every day. They see a fictionalized version of it in the movies and on television but the real thing does not strike home until you personally experience it, through the loss of someone close to you, a family member or a good friend. Depressed people; however, think of death almost every minute and they can be of any age.

We do. Your question proves it :-) I feel that it's good to keep it in the back of our minds that we will die, and contemplate death once in a while. Sometimes I get this weird feeling in my gut, a deep knowledge (not just knowing the fact) that one day I'll die. But then you have to let it go. Otherwise, the fear will paralyze you.
Bottom line for me: A balance between 'Live each day as if it were your last' and 'This is the first day of the rest of your life.' But closer to the second.

It's not a pleasant thing to think about. But I think most people have a grip on reality and understand that they'll die someday.
My husband and I have talked about how you never know when you're going to go. My uncle passed away in January - he was one of the healthiest people I know, but a freak accident like a fall can happen to anyone. We talked about how it's important to live your life like it's your last day and to always make sure that your loved ones know how you feel because you never REALLY know if you're going to come home that night or not.

People shouldnt think about it. When you do die, you want to know that you lived life as much as you can and didnt worry about those crazy stupid things. Think about it, if you keep spending all your time thinking about how and when you are going to die, you never live life to the fullest and you will regret it. If you dont do all those fun things because you were worried that you could die any day or any second, you never really and fully get to live life. Its okay to occasionally think about it, but dont fret too much about it.

It is difficult to face because we know (even subconciously)
that there is something not right about it - we know we
are not just physical beings. God created humans in the
first place to not die, but the fall of man brought death.
ppl say that death is a natural part of life - but it is because
of the fall - it is not really "natural" or we would not grieve and
avoid thinking about it so much!
Great question!

some people don't like to think about death, therefore they try not to and hide from themselves that sooner or later they will. People who can't deal with death should just learn to deal with it and move on. don't worry about it but expect it any day

Death is depressing. People know that they are mortal but there isn't any reason to think about it. It will come soon enough.
