I feel like its starting to get boring debating something that cannot be debated. It's only fun if its in person with a friend.
Come on...the skeptics (atheists, agnostics, religions with less doctrine) hatin on the religious right and vice versa...has anyone else felt fed up and just left?
I sure hav.
But I am wondering why this continues. Besides the fact that it is fun...the main reason I got involved in the first place.
But do you guys hav any other reason for doing this besides the fact that debating is fun??

If you're wrong, Your whole life is a big joke because you lived a trick, not life

Imagine praying to something "fake" your whole life. You would have to feel soooooooo stupid

If your husband cheated on you for 50 years when you thought he wasn't, you call that "nothing to lose"?

YOUR WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE IS A LIE

WHAT'S THE POINT IN LIVING IF YOU SPENT YOUR WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE MAKING A FOOL OF YOURSELF?

If us Atheists are wrong and God is good, he should understand that we were just being ourselves and weren't playing the better safe than sorry game which would probably piss him off.

You can't even stand for someone to SAY God is fake, just imagine if he really is fake and I know he is

when a dead person has an autopsi can they be reincarnated? All of the internal organs (inc. the heart which is the home of the soul) are taken out weighed and tested...they have been disconnected from the body....surely we need to remain connected til burial to be able to reincarnate!

Ok, basically I don't see the logic behind a creator/omnipotent being. God created us and gave us free will, with which you can either choose to do good by doing what he says, or do evil and get punished for all eternity. Now as religion teaches, God created the world and humans, nothing else outside of this. He gave us rules by which we are to behave. So... God created us, the only thing that exists other than him, only to worship him and follow his commands, or get punished. What kind of megalomanic must your God be? Don't you think that it should be either all or none; mindless humans who sacrifice goats and pay their tithes, or completely free human beings, with no strings attached? What is the justification for having rules by which to live by? Are we nothing more than lab rats; press the button and you get a piece of cheese? For those of you who will say that this is a test, doesn't that, in a way, remove all significance from what we know as life?

I was wondering that from a question about masturbation last night..

Lust to me is having sexual desire or a desire for pleasure. That is Totally natural and I don't see anything wrong with it. And I know Christians who enjoy sex so they clearly don't think that that is a sin.

Someone suggested to me that it's not the sexual desire that is bad to Christians but being selfish about it is..like only wanting to use someone for sex.

I can agree with that but than I don't understand why some Christians think masturbation is a sin (and some don't) because that is not hurting anyone.

So..could Christians explain to me what you consider to be Lust?

i haven't been reported personally, but sadly the last 4 or 5 stupid questions i've tried responding to have gotten reported before i could finish responding. please, i know it's difficult to resist, but the only way we can truly point out how ridiculous some people are is to leave their questions/answers up to let people know exactly how ridiculous they are.

Just a thought...

It would be, of course, totally optional.

If it went to a public vote, only a best answer would be chosen.

It could remain unknown to the rest of the community, and even anonymously subtract points from the answerer without telling them which of their answers was chosen as "Worst".

...or it could be publically displayed or marked and placed at the bottom of the list of answers, or even permanently deleted.

...or the answer (not the answerer, mind you) could be immediately sent to hell. (...uhh, just kidding!!!)

But seriously...
It could either be a 2 point loss (the two points you get for answering), or a more strict 5 or 10 points to really discourage garbage answers like, "I don't know" or "thanks for the 2 points!"...

I asked this here because this could possibly work in other categories, couldn't it?

But what about in R&S?

Your thoughts?

is that the reason why you're spreading your version of truth?

or is it because you just want to make yourself feel you are right and re-affirm your beliefs by wanting to have more and more people agree with you and convert in your belief system?

So, for example, if I wanted to say "Fred believes in the existence of a god" or "Bert thinks he can prove the non-existence of gods", is there a single word you can use in each case, so you could say "Fred believes in XXXX" or "Bert thinks he can prove YYYY"?

Matthews 7:21 " Noe everyone who says to Me, ' Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father in heaven. 22 " Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name? 23 "And then I will declare to them,' I never knew you, depart from Me, you workers of iniquity!"
