I don't think you should have been violated for this. There seem to be a lot of questions arise about the Catholic doctrine, and a lot of misconceptions are posted daily. Kudos to you for trying to set the record straight.
Yahoo! doesn't read the violations, Midge. They are issued by bots. You can try to appeal, but I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you. I just eat the violation notices and let it go.
I'm expecting one of my own at anytime now. I came to the defense of another user who was being trolled today, and instantly about a dozen users blocked me. Seems people want to voice their own opinions without extending the same courtesy to others.
I'm sorry this happened to you.

Yahoo never even looks at the questions or answers that get reported. If they get 2 or more reports per answer/question then they automatically get deleted. The only time that Yahoo actually looks at them is if you respond with an appeal to their deletion, then they will investigate it. And it very rarely gets overturned. It's a stupid policy that is completely unfair.

Well said Gazoo.
You should be able to say what you want, it is you opinion. That is what this is for, not just forcing your way on others.
I received one today for stating my belief that the bible is worthless. Now I know many disagree and follow it, but how is that worse than damning people to hell?

Midge: It probably wasn't Yahoo! per se. Somebody on here that didn't like your answer probably reported you and then got a bunch of his friends to report you too. Yahoo! doesn't really read each one unless you appeal your violation.

Welcome to Yahoo Answers.
I say stuff that I can't believe I get away with, and get violations for weird simple stuff that is fine all the time. There is no rhyme or reason to it. I wouldn't let it bother me to much if I was you.

Hi Midge, I agree totally with Jon`s answer, it seems we Catholics are getting to those who attack us so much here,so at least this is a consolation for you.

I really get the feeling that there are people who really loath Catholicism so much that they reject to read anything truth about it. they just want to live with the lie that they so willfully believe about your Church.
