Never!

Actually the question makes assumptions that are not true. When most people talk about "defying" god, what they mean is that a person is simply turning his back on all the "rules and regulations" that people are told they are obligated to follow in order to please God. In other words, an individual can accept the basic concept that there probably is a Mysterious Invisible Superbeing who is somehow responsible for the Cosmos and everything in it being here, yet at the same time, reject the belief that God is actually the malicious, vindictive, angry, punitive, sadistic, capriciously malevolent bully that he would have to be to allow people to get slammed into an infinity of punishment for simply being human. In short, some people have absolutely their own concept of who or what God is, and it doesn't fit the Biblical one. Those who believe in the Biblical god would definitely consider such a person as "defying" god, but it does NOT mean by a loooong stretch of imagination that that person is a Satanist lol.

Certainly the a-theist "denies god" in the sense that he rejects the idea of there being such an entity. But what is so terrible about honesty? You believe what you believe, and you don't believe what you don't believe. That's all there is to it. Why should I, for example, believe in the existence of "God"? Nobody has ever proved his/her/its existence. Nobody has ever seen "god" or heard "god" say anything, and "god" has been dramatically conspicuous in his/her/its invisibility. People tout a book they call "the Bible" which is a many times translated, many times interpreted version of what is claimed to be part of some very old scrolls in Aramaic (or something) discovered long ago, and dating back nobody quite knows to when. For something claimed to have been inspired and guided by a Superbeing, this tome is amazingly full of errors and contradictions. You can read something in one place, and by golly it's almost guaranteed that as you read on, you will find the exact opposite said somewhere else. Strikes me as being very much like the kind of product you'd expect from humans a long time ago before there were publishers and proof readers to check for this kind of goof-ups.

So what real evidence is there of the existence of this Omnipotent Being? You can't go pointing and saying "look at the stars in the sky, look at the pretty flowers and the oceans and all the critters on the planet" and claim that THAT is proof. Before you can say that's proof, you have to equally be able to rule out one hundred per cent that these things could not have got there any other way than by the hand of some Immortal, Omnipotent Superbeing. That cannot be done because we just do not know enough yet. You can believe something with aaaaalll the conviction and fiery passion you have in you, but belief cannot satisfy the strict demands of PROOF.

Why would "God" be so pissed off, I wonder, about the person who says with all honesty and sincerity "sorry, I am not buying it. I don't believe in such a being". A few hundred years ago "unbelievers" had to lie through their teeth about it just to keep themselves from getting hauled off to the village square, lashed to a stake and burnt to death. I daresay if I had lived back then, boy oh boy I could have lied up a storm, and deserved an Oscar for my convincing performance as a "devout believer". Does anyone think, I ask myself, that God would find this more pleasing to him (her/it), than the quiet, sincere honesty of a person who says "I do not believe because there is nothing to convince me".

I have considered the issue long and deep, and made my decision what I believe and do not believe. But I have been known to change my views about different things when somebody came forward with clear, convincing, unarguable, undeniable, irrefutable, incontrovertible proof that my thinking was flawed. I am only too glad to have my flawed thinking clarified for me, and to thank the person who has done it. But I am not expecting that to happen any time soon in this particular matter - unless of course, "God" gets the sudden urge to get off his godly butt, get down here, and uninvisible himself for the folks to see. That would get my attention, and very probably adjust my belief problem LOL.

Atheism

Many Satanists are atheists who enjoy the psychological benefits of ritual provided by Satanism. I don't have a problem with LaVeyan Satanism or branches of Satanism with similar philosophies. I prefer atheism myself.

I'm an Atheist - I deny God for the simple reason that he doesn't exist.

Were the existance of the Evangelica-Christian conception of God proven to me in some absolute way, I might very well consider Satanism, as I'd be pretty pissed at God at that point...

Why should I deny or defy the one who gave us our life? Even satan owed his life to GOD. For your info satan was an angel before,he was so jealous that he made himself a devil. If someone denies GOD in any reasons he is like denying his own life...

Denying god denies satan too, everything has an opposite, god - satan, hot - cold, etc.
Both atheism and satanism exist and denying god is surely not defying him, especially when you dont believe he exists.

God is such an evil character that, if he were real, I would HAVE to defy him to have any self respect. However, if he were real, he would LOVE to send me somewhere, as an enemy combatant, to be tortured and rot for eternity, so.... I might be scared to defy him. Then again, if he were real, he would be omniscient and would already know I don't approve of him being a baby-murdering tyrant, so it wouldn't really matter what I actually do.

There would have to be a god to deny or defy. So far I've seen no evidence for any gods existence, let alone yours.

If the God of the Bible exists, he would know what it takes for me to be convinced of his existence, yet he refuses to provide that evidence, therefore God must want me to be an atheist. But it is far more likely that no gods exist, now or ever. So, I deny the existence of any god. Even if one or more gods exist, I would feel no obligation to obey those people who claim to know god's will.

Satanism (which is not the same thing as devil worship) is a non-theistic religion. So the question is first of all a bit of a redundancy.

More importantly though, it's not like these are the only options. I could also say "Would you DENY Zeus or DEFY Zeus? In other words, Atheism OR Christianity?"

You really have to start reading the kinds of books that don't have pictures in them.
