And if their response is small all are invited to answer this question. Where in scripture are we instructed to leave the Jews alone. And what was the reason / justification for that instruction. Atheists, I am not asking you to believe in the scripture, I am just asking you to put your intelligence to the task. No mocking or inflamatory answers please. Whether the scripture is right or wrong (or fairy tale (ish), lol) what scenario is it pointing to?

Christian theology borrowed more than the archaic myth of the dying-resurrected Godman. Initiation by baptism, communion with the God through a holy meal that represented the flesh of the dead God, the Holy Spirit, monotheism, and immortality of the soul were all core beliefs of many ancient faiths. They were simply part of ancient Mediterranean culture

Christianity also borrowed elements of Jesus' mythology: the virgin birth, the miracles (including turning water into wine, walking on water, and especially healing the sick) were all common elements of pre-Christian Pagan religions. Mithras had 'em. So did Dionysus, Attis, Osiris, and Orpheus. And more. And they had them centuries before Christianity was a twinkle in Saint Paul's eye.

"As ye harm none, do what thou"
is part of this rede. Do some pagans on here follow the edicts of this and how is this applied in your life? Do you find it hard to keep to this when discussing religion on here?

Can you please quote biblical scriptures that back up your claim that Jesus is not God but is really Michael the Archangel? Please provide a biblical source, not the JW bible or the Watchtower literature. Thanks.

: If god knows everything that will ever happen before it happens,(Omniscient) why does he allow children to be concieved to parents who will ultimately abort them, when he knows they will? Then he considers it murder, which is sin, which is punishable by hell, for a 'sin', he knew they were going to do, before THEY knew they were going to do it. Is god hell-happy or what?

Darwin's theory of natural selection only gave us one MECHANISM of evolution. Evolution works by other forces acting on it (and I don't mean God). So then why is he the most picked on by the religious?

I'm a Unitarian and I'm looking for some great songs to sing in church that will inspire us to love, appreciate, help and understand ourselves and the world in which we live. Today we sang "Lean on me" and "it's a Wonderful World" any more suggestions? Thanks! :-)

Answers from Christians only, please. We recently moved and are looking for a new church. Back home we were members of a Baptist church that we loved! Very Christ centered. Today, we visited a nondenominational Christian Church because it was very close to our house. I was SO disappointed. The pastor barely mentioned Jesus, the music only kind of referred to Jesus, Of the 5 pastors only the Senior pastor was a man. Is this how all nondenoms are or did we go on a bad day or is this not the church for us? (I did not like it at all but my husband said he really liked it bc the pastor did not bore hime to sleep.) Any help? Thanks in advance!

I am wanting to know what a Hindu priest, monk, or any authority figure; needs to have in order to obtain there position. Christian Priests go to University and study Catholic studies for years, so in order to be an authority in Hinduism, what do they need to take? How long do they have to go school?

He was copied largely from an Egyptian God called Horus.
http://www.religioustolerance.org/chr_jcpa5.htm

Some things they have in common:
* Both are only children of a god with Joseph as a foster father, born under a star, and witnessed by shepherds.
* Neither has any details between the ages of 12 and 30.
* Both resist temptation on a high mountain.
* Both were crucified next to two thieves, died and buried in a tomb, descend into Hell but resurrect after three days.
* Both are foretold to come again and reign for 1000 years.

The Egyptian Horus God appeared in writings about 4 to 7 centuries before Christ. Does that bother any of you?

A friend pointed out that in this question I sounded like I think it's okay to "study" things that christians believe are evil.......such as satanism. I recently read a book about a woman who was delivered from satanism by the power of God but it was a long hard battle. I want to point out the bible says "be innocent concerning what is evil and wise concerning what is good" .....also it says "be wise as serpents and harmless as doves" Anyway the dark side is nothing to mess with! How many agree? Amen or Oh Me??
