Ohhh, you mean the Egyptian guy who became a fishman or something of the like...yep, very believable....Christiantiy is so absurd compared to all of the mythological tenants of the Osiris....especially for the rational mind...right?....huh?
But since you askes, one big difference is that the assimilation ritual cost the living their assets, kind of like paying the church to annul a marriage.
