I believe out of all the ones I know, I would go with DNA. If the offspring is different from the average DNA by more than a tenth of a percent, the offspring would die.

Since their are no species whose DNA is that close to humans or other species, I think that shows Evolution is a wrong

I know there are many more facts that disprove evolution. I'd like to hear the 1 you believe to be most telling..

Would you agree that in order to qualify as an intelligent being or person, one must be able to think, act, communicate, and have a free will?

If you answer yes and you think that Satan can do all those things, then why JWs believe that the Holy Spirit is a person? The Bible teaches that He has all the attributes of a person.

The word Christian is a very misunderstood word. The Bible knows nothing about the hyphenated use of Christian. Many people confess to be a Christian when actually there is little semblance between their confession and profession (manner of life). Its hard to walk that walk perfectly. God realizes that! How do you define the word Christian?

Jesus, when Thomas doubted it was Him, said to Thomas "blessed are those who believe and have not seen" or something to that effect...

Did Jesus basically say "Hey...you're not blessed"?

There are so many stereotypes, so many extremists who have ruined this religion, but if one is to look at it, it answers all the questions people have about God, life, death, and everything in between.

Give me the real reasons why Islam scares you...not because the media says they are terrorists...These people are not Muslims.

So...I'm being baptized in one week!!! WOOO!!!!! (my baptismal interview is Monday...I dunno the time though, I need to find out...)

I'm so excited! I'm having The Spirit of God and Praise to the Man being sung...of course, 2 people are talking at my baptism(like all of them), and I'm having my friend sing Amazing Grace....and her dad is baptizing me!!

Does this sound good to you? Or do you think I should change something.

And if you're going to say "yeah...change the fact you're getting baptized" that's not the point of this...I'm sure your anti-Christian remarks will effect someone far worse than they'll effect me.

I am sick of people spreading hate. I want everyone to put down a quote that encourages peace. I don't care where it comes from. Just a message of peace. Thank you in advance.

The problem with the religious perspective is that it squanders the meaning of your time on earth. Many religious people believe that this is the "meaning" of their lives right now:

"If I am good while on earth, then when I die I will go to heaven where the streets are paved with gold and I will live with God in the lap of luxury and have absolutely anything I want or need for eternity! My time here on earth is a mere nanosecond compared to eternity. I just have to tough it out here for a nanosecond to get my infinite reward."

In this scenario, your nanosecond on earth pretty much has no meaning -- the whole goal is "heaven."

Think about where this sort of thinking can lead:

* Example #1 - This sort of thinking can be seen in the actions of Islamic suicide bombers. They believe that, by blowing themselves (and others) up, they will be given as their reward a place in heaven with 72 virgins to satisfy their every whim.

I'm talking about a spiritual connection-- with the earth, with those around you-- some wonderful moments in your life when you feel happy to be alive, specific or general.
Mine are these: hearing laughter, walking into a greenhouse or walking in the woods, seeing people help each other, seeing a beautiful piece of art or reading a passage in a book that I just have to underline.

Is there a particular point of death, in those terms?
What will happen when I'm not alive in physical terms any longer?
What will I feel?
Will I still be myself?
Will the emotions that propelled me in life continue to do so?
Is there a heaven or a hell?
Will I be greeted by gods or demons, enemies or beloved ones?
When I'm dead, will I still be who I am now, and will I remember those who are dear to me?

I know that Mormons are forbidden from drinking alcoholic beverages. Some Mormon friends of mine are having a pitch in dinner, with Italian food as a theme. My favorite lasagna recipe calls for a fourth cup of wine. Would this be acceptable?

Really, what does it hurt?

Whether you believe in the power of prayer is insignificant. What matters is that the person making the request *does* believe that prayer has the power to heal, to change things. Why answer if all you can add are harsh words and bad feelings.

Most people who scoff at prayer respect meditation. The two are not so far removed. Both relax the mind and body, lower blood pressure, instill a feeling of calmness, and allow for solutions to problems to be seen once the mind becomes cleared, and the person is able to focus.

You might know it as "the power of positive thinking."

Whatever you call it, whatever you believe, can you try to be respectful to those in need? It wouldn't hurt, and it might even help.

Just thought I'd throw this out there.
