when I run out of material to talk about to other people I get quiet and listen to other people talk.

Yes. I think it is important to have some time to speak with God and tell Him what is on your mind. It helps to start the day with a good attitude and helps you to think of the day ahead of you and of the challenges you may have. I ask for patience and to have the type of attitude which will make a difference. I ask that I be kind and thoughtful in the way I present myself and I thank Him for giving me the life that I have. I pray for others and the needs that they have. (I usually do a lot of praying when I am in the car; it makes the trip go faster and I feel a sense of calm when I am having this conversation.) As you start the day and look around and see how beautiful the world is; the trees, the fall colors, the blue sky; you can't help but be thankful.

I should. That's funny. I was just thinking today that I know it would help me to do that. Why is it so hard to set aside even 15 minutes for a quiet introspection, meditation, or prayer? It's such a small amount out of 24 hours.

Yes but I sleep right through it. I pray while I'm busy. It only takes a few moments.
