Why are there so many "atheists" in a category called "religion and spirituality"?

Is "Atheism" a religion?

Is it "spiritual"?

Hmmmmmm...

Why can't we chide about beliefs we find irrational? I don't demand that atheists not laugh at my beliefs. I don't want to be called names, and I don't call others names, but surely chiding each other about our beliefs can be a good thing if we keep it in the proper context?
I do not believe in 'political correctness' and I don't believe in respecting any and all religious beliefs. Showing respect to another human being is not the same as respecting their beliefs.
Your thoughts?

"I want you to just let a wave of intolerance wash over you. I want you to let a wave of hatred wash over you. Yes, hate is good...Our goal is a Christian nation. We have a Biblical duty, we are called by God, to conquer this country. We don't want equal time. We don't want pluralism."
Randall Terry, Founder of Operation Rescue
Reported in The News-Sentinel, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 8-16-93

George Grant, was Executive Director of Coral Ridge Ministries for many years and is a dominionist author and educator. He wrote in The Changing of the Guard, Biblical Principles for Political Action:

Christians have an obligation, a mandate, a commission, a holy responsibility to reclaim the land for Jesus Christ -- to have dominion in civil structures, just as in every other aspect of life and godliness.

But it is dominion we are after. Not just a voice.

It is dominion we are after. Not just influence.

It is dominion we are after. Not just equal time.

It is dominion we are after.

World conquest. That's what Christ has commissioned us to accomplish. We must win the world with the power of the Gospel. And we must never settle for anything less... Thus, Christian politics has as its primary intent the conquest of the land -- of men, families, institutions, bureaucracies, courts, and governments for the Kingdom of Christ. (pp. 50-51)

Pat Robertson tells us who makes up that "well-organized minority." It includes only Christians who share his point of view. As he said on his television program, the 700 Club: "You say you're supposed to be nice to the Episcopalians and the Presbyterians and the Methodists, and this and that and the other thing. Nonsense! I don't have to be nice to the spirit of the Antichrist." (Pat Robertson, the Most Dangerous Man in America?, 149, Rob Boston),

Instead of the endless debate over whether there is a god(s) or not. Let's discuss whether or not the act of prayer is taken advantage of be people with political power.

For example: Does "Pray for the Troops" keep some people from demanding they are brought home?

Okay, I know I am probably going to get a lot of wackos for this question, but please try to be as serious as possible. The way I see it, is that everyone has psychic abilities, but it is there own choice whether or not to let them grow.

My problem is that I have never really paid attention to my intuition or anything like that, but I have noticed I have the abilities. Lately I have been getting a lot of weird signs though. We just moved into a new house and I think that might be part of it. The other day, I was laying in bed about to fall asleep(This is one of the state of minds where you are most susceptible to these things) and I heard voices, Loud and clear, and it was two men talking, having a casual conversation. No one was in the house and the TV's were all off. This might have been me taping into the otherside, or it could have been astral projection.

Because a lot of Christian people said that there's no way you can create something from nothing and I know that energy/matter can't be created or destroyed. I want to be able to explain to them about the differences

3:79. It is not (possible) for any human being to whom Allâh has given the Book and Al-Hukm (the knowledge and understanding of the laws of religion) and Prophethood to say to the people: "Be my worshippers rather than Allâh’s." On the contrary (he would say): "Be you Rabbâniyyûn (learned men of religion who practise what they know and also preach others), because you are teaching the Book, and you are studying it."

80. Nor would he order you to take angels and Prophets for lords (gods)[1]. Would he order you to disbelieve after you have submitted to Allâh’s Will?

Some christians say that if they are right about God then they get to go to heaven, and if they are wrong, nothing is really lost. If an atheist is right, nothing is lost, but they are wrong, then they will spend eternity in hell, so why not just believe? But most of the people I know can't force themselves to believe something. Wouldn't God accept someone who honestly disbelieves over someone who dishonestly believes?

I am an agnostic atheist. This is new for me and I am still learning. I want my children to educated enough to draw their own conclusions about religion. How can I go about educating them of various beliefs as well as my own without them thinking that 'Well mommy says this so it must be true'. I dont want them to think that just because I see things a certain way that automatically they should too. I want them to think things through for themselves. At what age should I start to teach them about religion? They are young, 6 & 3, and my 6 y.o. already asks questions about god and I answer them the best I know how without confusing him.
Any advice, opinions, or experiences would be helpful. Thanks!
