the most opinionated, unforgiving and uncompasionate towards others, especially if others don't necessarily believe in everything they do? Is this not sort of hypocritcal?

I came home today and found an email from a friend...only it wasn't from her, it was from her son...wanting to reach out and find some of her friends. See...she was walking the dog, and someone hit her with their car. Now she's left in the hospital with some serious injuries.

One thing I know about my good friend - she is a Prayer Warrior and I've often seen her post on here, some very touching and compassionate prayers.

And yes...the doctors will do a great job, as will prayer. What the doctors can't fix is the sense of loss the family has, the uncertainty, the pain they may be feeling, but God will.

To those who join us in praying...thank you. From this hurt, good will come from it. That much we are confident of.

The fact that there are millions of happy, effective, honest, good people getting by just fine without a higher power, proves that anyone can do it - if they have the courage.

Never let it be said that I forget my friends

Recently overheard a mother and daughter in their last moments together at
the airport. They had announced the departure. Standing near the security
gate, they hugged and the mother said, "I love you and I wish you enough".
The daughter replied, "Mom, our life together has been more than enough.
Your love is all I ever needed. I wish you enough, too, Mom". They kissed
and the daughter left. The mother walked over to the window where I was
seated. Standing there I could see she wanted and needed to cry. I tried
not to intrude on her privacy but she welcomed me in by asking, "Did you
ever say good-bye to someone knowing it would be forever?". "Yes, I
have," I replied. "Forgive me for asking, but why is this a forever
good-bye?". "I am old and she lives so far away. I have challenges ahead
and the reality is - the next trip back will be for my funeral," she said

I'm an atheist. A member named "Former Fool" said in an answer:

"There are no real atheists in R&S real atheists DO NOT spend time in any sites with the words religion OR spirituality in them"

What is your opinion of this statement, and what do you think REALLY defines an atheist.

Soooooo . . . my eighteenth birthday is in just over a week and I have been thinking about past experiences in my life up to this point. But have I missed out on anything important? What life changing moments were important to you at this age? Feel free to share anything, the good, the bad, and the ugly! It can be anything from spiritual, physical, emotional, or social. Let's all reminisce in the good old times before you were expected to act like a mature adult even if you still don't! ;)

Don't women read the Bible, and see how badly they are looked upon in it? They still get the shaft when they want to be ministers or priests, so why support the misogyny that Christianity represents?

Is it because Jesus was a messenger on earth sent by God or was or the idea that you won't go to heaven if you sin? I'm just curious.

P.S. could you prove to me that Satanism or Buddhism is as valid as Christianity? How come atheists don't bash on other religions as much as Christianity?

some christians say we should and some say we shouldnt so which one is it? I mean if we arent supposed to take it literally then wouldnt that make most of the stories fictional? And what about the world being made in seven days but the earth being populated in 600 years? then how long did it take for the earth to form if it wasnt literally seven days?

sorry but reading it alone and not knowing if I should take it literally or not is only gonna make me even more agnostic.

Did I not tell you earlier that a Jew is such a noble, precious jewel that God and all the angels dance when he farts?---Martin Luther (Germany)

“What then shall we Christians do with this damned, rejected race of Jews?
First, their synagogues should be set on fire, and whatever does not burn up should be covered or spread over with dirt so that no one may ever be able to see a cinder or stone of it. And this ought to be done for the honour of God and of Christianity, in order that God may see that we are true Christians.
Secondly, their homes should be likewise broken down and destroyed.
Thirdly, they should be deprived of their prayerbooks and talmuds in which such idolatry, lies, cursing and blasphemy are taught.
Fourthly, their rabbis must be forbidden under threats of death to teach anymore.” – Martin Luther

“If I find a Jew to baptize, I shall lead him to the Elbe bridge, hang a stone around his neck, and push him into the water, baptizing him with the name of Avraham!.. I cannot convert the Jews. Our lord Christ did not succeed in doing so; but I can close their mouths so that there will be nothing for them to do but to lie upon the ground.” – Martin Luther

Jesus did not call them Abraham's children, but a "brood of vipers" [Matt. 3:7]. Oh, that was too insulting for the noble blood and race of Israel, and they declared, "He has a demon' [Matt 11:18]. Our Lord also calls them a "brood of vipers"; furthermore in John 8 [:39,44] he states: "If you were Abraham's children ye would do what Abraham did.... You are of your father the devil. It was intolerable to them to hear that they were not Abraham's but the devil's children, nor can they bear to hear this today.------Martin Luther

They [rulers] must act like a good physician who, when gangrene has set in proceeds without mercy to cut, saw, and burn flesh, veins, bone, and marrow. Such a procedure must also be followed in this instance. Burn down their synagogues, forbid all that I enumerated earlier, force them to work, and deal harshly with them, as Moses did...
If this does not help we must drive them out like mad dogs.----Martin Luther

Martin Luther: [ in his last sermon, four days before he died, ] called for practical measures: burn their synagogues, confiscate all books in Hebrew, prohibit Jewish prayers, force them to do manual labour, and drive them out of Germany.

“I do insist on the certainty that sooner or later – once we hold power – Christianity will be overcome and the German Church established. Yes, the German church, without a Pope, and Luther, if he could be with us, would give us his blessing.” (Adolf Hitler, Hitler’s speeches, edited by Prof. N.H. Baynes [oxford, 1942], pg. 369.)

Adam was hanging around the garden of Eden feeling very lonely. God asked him, "What's wrong with you?" Adam said he didn't have anyone to talk to.
God said that He was going to make Adam a companion and that it would be a woman.
He said, "This pretty lady will gather food for you, she will cook for you, when you discover clothing she will wash it for you.

She will always agree with every decision you make and she will not nag you,
and will always be the first to admit she was wrong when you've had a disagreement.
She will praise you!

She will bear your children
and never ask you to get up in the middle of the night to take care of them.
"She will NEVER have a headache and will freely give you love and
passion whenever you need it."
Adam asked God, "What will a woman like this cost?"
God replied, "An arm and a leg."

Then Adam asked, "What can I get for a rib?"
