I am an atheist because I don't hold a belief in any gods.
Even if I were to believe in one of the gods... I would make certain it was not the one Former Fool is in cahoots with!

That guy is just ridiculous. There's nothing "former" about how foolish he is. Just because you don't believe in something doesn't mean you can't have an interest in it. The example I always use is that I don't believe in Greek mythology but I love learning about it. The only thing you need to join the club is a disbelief in god. And besides, you can be an atheist and still be spiritual. Some people can't seem to realize that religion and spirituality don't have to exist together.

No. Atheists don't think in "some sort of life", in the different case we does not be Atheist. To me, if I answer the question of ways human beings got here from inorganic depend by God, then a million different questions arise:Why did god create Neptune? Why did he create the loads of thousands of Galaxies that we are going to never have the potential to pass to? what's the purpose of human beings having a tailbone? Why enable for Christianity to be cut up into distinctive sects? Why wait see you later to introduce Christianity? what's the purpose of the component Lanthanum? Why try human beings in life harder than others? Why try us in any respect if He has suitable foreknowledge? Why create species of microorganisms the place the only distinction between species is a few DNA sequences? How do you recognize which you have the awesome faith? Why create this type of great Universe if we are so important? Why did he make distinctive colored apples, yet in straightforward terms crimson strawberries? Why does he make it so almost each and every thing could nicely be defined by technology? What became the take care of coming up the dinosaurs, then killing them off? What became with those (there have been many) extinctions throughout prehistoric cases? Why did he make the asteroid belt? Why does he make stars we will not in any respect see? Why does he enable me ask those questions? Why does he punish humanity with organic mess ups whilst none human beings had something to do with Adam or Eve? Why did he enable the devil into the backyard in the 1st place? If he has suitable foreknowledge, did no longer he already understand that Eve might take the apple even earlier he made her? Why create some thing which you recognize you will punish later? Why plenty evil in the international? Why did he create prehistoric life if he knew human beings might argue approximately it for years? Why did he make it so chimps might proportion approximately ninety 9% of our DNA? Why provide gentle the twin wave particle homes that it has? Does he have foreknowledge or can we've unfastened will (there can not be the two via fact unfastened will isn't completely predictable)? Why did he enable for the Spanish to exterminate the Mayans? If he created human beings, then why are there bones of ape-like adult adult males, or Neothandrals? You get the belief. i think of technology is a little extra appropriate at answering my questions than faith.

I think his statement is false, Buddhists are atheist and spiritual at the same time. I come here because I find religion interesting, I have said that hundreds of times before. He acts like atheists pass out at the sign of anything that has to do with religion.
What defines me as an atheist is the fact that I don't believe in god, and that's it. Nothing else "comes" with atheism, everything else from person to person is individual.

All atheists are defined by the fact none of them believe in the existence of any invisible sky guys, gods or ghosties.
What ever else an atheist believes is because he's an individual.
Some atheists like me enjoy baiting fundies.
It wasn't till I was seven that I became aware that many adults believed in an imaginary man in the sky - I was amazed.
My amazement in the intervening 54 years has not waned in any way - in fact, I'm more surprised now that I was then.
Unlike a fundie I'm not afraid of religion or its followers - in fact I find the psychology of the subject, as well as its subjects, extremely interesting.

A person who disbelieves in the existence of a supreme creature.
This former fool is a current fool. Ask him to read the Emperor's new clothes. Just because the bible says so does not mean it is true. It just mean they use this phrase to control the minds of people 2000 odd years ago and till this day some are stuck within that era.

I don't consider atheism that which defines me, but atheism is nothing more than the lack of belief in gods.
Regarding the statement by Fool, that individual is simply wrong. I spent 30+ years devoted to a cult. I have a vested interest in the subject even though I no longer believe in gods.

My magic electric atheist badge defines me...you press it and it repeats "There is no god...there is no god...there is no god."
When the battery gets low it repeats more slowly
"T h e r i i i z z z n n o o h h g g g a a a w w w d.......
"T h e r i i i z z z n n o o h h g g g a a a w w.......
"T h e r i i i z z z z n n o o h h h h g g g a a a..........."
Not a real atheist, though. I'm just here to cause as much disharmony as possible...I guess since I'm not a real atheist, all those "Why are athiest' hear' on R&S?" questions don't apply to me?

I think that this "Former Fool" would be less of a liar if he/she omitted the word former. What an idiot.
What defines an atheist is a lack of belief. Why must people insist on complicating it?
