I think Van Sant's remake of "Psycho", although quite high in the running, pales in comparison to "A Very Brady Christmas". It doesn't get more evil than that.

I believe in an all powerful being, a powerful positive influence that most call God. I also believe that God has given man an infinite amount of ability as far as the mind is concerned and he gave us free will. If that all stands to be within reason, then it was God who gave the director, Gus Van Sant the ability to think about making the remake of the movie, "Psycho." God gave him the ability to think and he thought, then made the movie. (There is no act of pure evil, only pure selfishness.) One kills to please one's self, not because one is evil, but selfish. The one doing the killing is taking something of greatest importance from the other person, thereby being inhumanly selfish.
Pure evil is not an act but an actual entity that is called Satan, but is actually the fallen.

Never saw the Van Sant remake of 'Psycho'. However, I think the existence of Adam Sandler movies is strong proof that the Forces of Evil lurk about...

I've never seen the movie "psycho" but I think it was based on the book. So it wouldn't be the director of the movie who's evil it would be the author of the book. But still, I'm not sure that the story is "pure" evil.

No, just bad film making and a glaring lack of original thought.
An act of evil was the World Trade Center bombing. Bigotry is evil. Killing people or verbally abusing people who do not believe as you do, is evil. Breaking any of the ten commandments is evil. Child abuse is pure evil.
You are right, Satan exists, and his influence is evident, but then again, do we have to listen to him? ah, now there's the rub.

Haven't you stepped into the 20th c yet. The concept of mad being to do with some sort of menevolent supernatural being was refuted scientifically around 1900. And bad films do not make us return to the bad old days where people had holes drilled in their head to release the devil.

Remakes wouldn't be made if the makers didn't think they couldn't get money from them. They know people are stupid enough to buy tickets for it. If "Satan" represents being crafty enough to recognize and exploit people's pretentiousness and stupidity, then I say kudos to Satan.

Ha! You may have a point. It is pretty evil to mess with Hitchcock's work.
