God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are of the Gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever.

they need to hear it even though it is not the kind of romantic love they are looking for. Would staying in a relationship based on trying to be kind and caring to the other person, because they need it be as unfulfilling for them as it is yourself and perhaps keep them from meeting someone who would have romantic feelings for them? Makes one wonder if they have been living a lie like forever huh. But then marriage because you don't want to hurt someones feelings...what is that? Mmm

I realise that this question is somewhat inflamatory, but I feel that its an important question in the ongoing debate over same-sex unions and ordinations of gay and lesbian persons in many mainline protestant Churches today.

Many faithful Christians could be found to practise behaviours on an ongoing basis that the Bible teaches to be wrong. We are all sinners. We all covet things from time to time. Would you question the faith of someone who was a gambling addict or an alcoholic if they told you they truly believed in Christ despite their problems? Most would not reject those persons claims of faith on their face. So what about homosexual persons? Can a person be homosexual and still be a good Christian?

This may be an off the wall question but in John 16:8 when Jesus speaks of the comforter or companion that is to come when He goes to heaven. Jesus uses the term "he" to refer to the Holy Spirit and "he" is not capitolized. In the NT "He" in reference to Jesus and God is capitolized but not the Holy Spirit in John 16:8. Why is this???

lately, it seems my questions have caught the attention of at least one of you, enough so that i've had about 10 questions/responses removed in about the past week. i can only assume it's a christian because the majority of my questions have been directed at christians, thus i don't see any reason in a muslim reporting my questions. what's odd is these are not questions that are offensive by any means, unless you consider an appeal to common sense to be offensive. if that's the case, then i thank you. you've proven my point better than i ever could. isn't sad that the best way you have of keeping people believing the way you do is to make sure you suppress the questions and ideas of those who don't?

I've read that in Rome there was only a hand full of Christians maybe 5000, during this time Jesus gets crucified and a few years later there are Millions of Christians. Can someone explain why so many people reverted to Christianity, what other religon people converted from and how/why it grew so quickly?

According to Christian (and Jewish) lore, it's downright petulant, dangerous and murderous... If such a thing existed, then it should be tried for rimes against humanity, and summarily executed...

This is a serious question because I honestly want to understand your perspectives. If there is no god or creator of any kind, then where do you think the universe came from?

Not bashing... just wondering... Thanks!!!

Ok, it's a short argument, but hear me out. Why would it be a sin, or going against what the Bible says if a women pastor is leading other people to Christ, and is also helping new Christians in their Christian walk? I know the Bible talks about how women aren't supposed to have authority over men, but what if women in leadership roles are furthering the kingdom of God? How could God possibly have a problem if women are leading people to Jesus? And don't tell me it's not possible for a women in a leadership role to have altar calls, or whatever avenue she uses(ala Billy Grahm etc etc).

as I look to God, I see that no one really knows who created the catholic chruch, it just formed on its own and the same with there bible.

BUT the rest of the chruchs were created by marten luther, and he
changed the bible and took books out of them, or the catholic church, who they do not know who, added books to it.

our God is a unknown God, the Catholic church created by a unknown being, the Pentacostal, and all the rest, the KJV, NIV, NKJV bibles and all this mess, and mess in chruch's baptist, Martin luther, salvation army, ya da ya da. all created by the direction of a man and him saying he is in the holy ghost. All these chruchs claim they were created by the holy ghost..

I am sick of all these chruch's , and bibles and the $1,000,000 bible francise because it is still the best seller changing the english language over and over so you can read it better, your's for 29.99.But I have only experanced the holy spirit in the pentacostal chruch, not any other chruch.so far....

Luke 17:1 ''Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!

Luke 17:2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.

Hi, I'm Phil.

I'm a rather young (15 yrs) Christian, and I have questions about JW's and their views on blood transfusions.

"Which of you shall have an *** or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the sabbath day?"
(Luke 14:5)

Does this mean that you are to disregard minor, relatively "trivial" rules in the Bible in cases of dire need?

What about blood transfusions? Shouldn't the rule about "eating blood" be disregarded when a person's LIFE is in danger?

Doesn't it seem that if this were true, God would have little regard or care for a person's life?

Wasn't the Salvation of Mankind brought about through the shedding of the Blood of Jesus? Are we not to remember him by symbollically "drinking his blood" during communion?

And does putting blood in your vessles really count as "eating"?

Just wondering...

Any answers appreciated.

Thanks,
Phil

My son came home confused because his teacher told the class that he believes in Creationism (didn't say that word, instead he explained it) and not what their school books say, but that they need to answer the questions on the test in accordance with the school book anyways. He told them things like the dinosaurs were really around 5000 years ago, so on and so forth and ended it with but you have to learn that yourself. He also asked them NOT to tell there other teacher (main teacher) that he said that. My problem is more with the fact that he's telling my kid that the school books could be wrong and causing him confusion, then the whole religion thing. BUT, I do have a problem with him spreading his religious belief and obviously it's against the law.

SO - My first reaction is... I'm going to have a talk with the teacher who did this, but my son got so upset and doesn't want anything bad to happen because he told me. Now, my main concern is my kid being able to come to me like this
