Soooooo . . . my eighteenth birthday is in just over a week and I have been thinking about past experiences in my life up to this point. But have I missed out on anything important? What life changing moments were important to you at this age? Feel free to share anything, the good, the bad, and the ugly! It can be anything from spiritual, physical, emotional, or social. Let's all reminisce in the good old times before you were expected to act like a mature adult even if you still don't! ;)

Seriously, don't take your age for granted, the years are going to start speeding by. I'm still young...I'm 26, but sometimes I find it hard to believe it's been almost 9 years since my 18th. Don't be in a rush to experience things, just let them come to you in their own due time. Don't worry about having a steady boyfriend or getting married. Enjoy your adulthood while single. Even at 26 I don't regret not having fallen in love yet, I'm sure it will happen eventually.

Hey! thanks for asking this, I feel the same way. I feel that I've missed too much too sometimes. I can not give you like a good answers because we're in the same situation. BTW! welcome to the age of 18.... where legally you are an adult but don't feel like it (at least I don't!). Yayy!!! we'll be the same age next week. Happy B-day in advance!!!!! ^_^

[edit]: I will share with you my experience so far of being an 18 years-old. You get to know yourself better and not only plan and talk.. also act. What I mean with this is that we set goals for life and we say I wanna be this, I wanna be that when I grow up and all that... that is said but you get to realize that you are not in the age of only talking about it anymore, you have to start working on it already. You will start what you want to accomplish in the years to come.
Independency from parents... what most of the teenagers want, but not in my case, it also makes me sad the fact that for example, I can go to court and they won't need my mother to sign for me. I miss giving documents to my mother to sign them for me. It has been 17 years living in a way... and then from one day to another you get all this "rights" and stuff. It sucks that when you go to the library and take out the Captain Underwear books and they look weird on you, lol. I still ask permision to my mother to do all I do. Just enjoy your age and live it however you want to live it as long as you don't harm yourself or others, don't let the stereotyping stop you from doing the things you like to do. Just be yourself and follow your heart. You will get to understand things that you couldn't understand before, will feel more stress and the fear of being almost a full grown up will come to you... just take it cool!!!

hugs

For me 18 meant being one step closer to the age I thought was going to shake-up my world......the big "21".

18 wasn't such a big deal to me.....I'm not sure what that was.
