All true.

The Catholic Church is a Church of sinners and much suffering. It is also a Church of saints and scholars. The story of the Catholic Church is a divine and human story. The Church is divine in its Founder, Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the only founder of a religion who claimed to be God, and proved that claim by rising from the dead. The Catholic Church is also human - afflicted with all the frailties of human nature - the sin and suffering, but also the saintliness and scholarship.

When the Church was failing God, God raised up prophets or reformers. A reformer is one who changes people's hearts, not revealed doctrine. There have been thousands of great reformers in the Catholic Church, like St. Francis of Assisi, St. Clare, St. Benedict, St. Teresa of Avila, etc. The Catholic Church and the Bible have not, in 2000 years, changed any of the many truths revealed by God; among these truths:
a. that Holy Communion is really and truly the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ,
b. devotion to Mary,
c. confession,
d. praying for the dead (Purgatory),
e. the Pope is the visible head of the Church on earth. (Christ of course, is the invisible head of the Church.)

The problem I have with religion is this notion that you HAVE to go to church once a week.

It says in the bible that God is EVERYWHERE and in everything. You should be thanking God everyday for your life, and worshiping him every second of your life (if you have chosen to be a follower, far be it from me to impose God on anyone), thanking him for the world and all your blessings, and praying for the strength to handle those things which you don't consider blessings.

The only reason people go to church is because they are too scared to worship Him on their own. Because they are too blind to be able to see Him anywhere where he's not hung up on the wall on a cross.

1) True, God wants to take all people close to his heart, and keep them safe
2) False, churches are all about making money off of people's devotions
3) False, there's nothing to say that the Catholic Church is THE church (knowing what their priests get up to with the altar boys should tell you that). God's church is the world, and the hearts of all. That's where you'll find him, and where you should look.

First of all only those who have been born again with the Spirit of truth through Christ is made one with the Father in heaven. And this is not done through the Catholic church. Jesus has the Holy Spirit to convert our spirits, He does not need a religion to do it. He never set up the catholic church to be His church.

Secondly, If there is a unity with all churches then that is a sign that the end is near and this type of unity is a false unity. Christ came not to bring peace or unity with all, He came to divide the the sheep from the goats. Believers from non believers. He is the only one uniting true believers. The church is a body of believers, that may or may not attend church of differant denominatuions but truly see the differance between attending church to win points with God or people as apposed to being spiritually made new and knowing that they are apart of The Church that has no walls and is not a building.

The part about finding the Church of Christ in it's fullness in the Catholic Church is not true. The catholic church has lied to everyone with it's false doctrine and they know no one will really read their bibles to really find out because they have been brainwashed into thinking that only the pope or priests can interpret scripture. And if anyone has read it on their own, they will believe the catholic church because they have been indoctrinated for so long that they have a hard time believing in anything else. But the truth is the Holy Spirit will come to a person who is being called by God and He makes known the truth if they are truly seeking the truth. By the Holy Spirit alone!

Don't believe the catholic church. Christ is the only way, and He did not say we had to be apart of that system or church to be saved. Or to be baptized. It is our faith in Him that saves us. Jesus is the Rock, not the church. Jesus is the foundation for those who know Him. Christ adds to the church everyday, but in the end the Word says that not many will find the truth. They will believe a lie. And take the wide path to destruction, instead of taking the narrow gate to truth. The catholic church is very large and has millions of members. Not all of them can be bound for Heaven. So read your bible, ask God to show you the truth. He will make sure you find it.

The truth is that both protestants and catholics share many if not all of the important beliefs, most of the schisms are on not quite that important thing, at least from a realistic viewpoint. The other thing to consider is that when surveyed, individual ministers and priests will subscribe to beliefs that are on the other side of the fence, so to speak.

Just this atheist veiwpoint.

Well, a saved person will spend eternity with God in Heaven. The only way to be saved is to accept Jesus Christ as personal savior.
The "church" is not confined to a denomination or building. All who are saved belong to the body of the church.
I don't doubt that the catholic church teaches about Jesus, howeve their worship of Mary and saints is not biblical. We are all saints, if we are indeed saved. It says so in the New Testament.
The best answer will be found in God's word itself.

IN RESPONSE TO AUGUSTINE: Forgive me if I have used an incorrect word. My friend Cheryl prays Hail Mary's all the time. Sometimes she says she has to pray them however many times in order to get pardoned for a sin. That is totally not biblical. Show me where it is found in the bible.
