why do we look at people who have an imaginary friend to have issues. isnt this the same principle? never seen them before, cant hear them ( only the person with the imaginary friend can) never does anythting, no one else can see. how come as a society we dont condone children to have imaginary friends and tell them to go get some real ones but yet god fits the description of one but no one seems to mind. why?

I've noticed that when I've slept with a religious man (nearly always a Christian and nearly always cheating on his wife, sure they feel more guilt but god forgives them because Jesus died to save them)
they are just about always quite small in the trouser department
the only 2 exceptions to this were dysfunctional (or pretty much so)
my question is this is there some thing in organised religion that makes a man that way
or does the a "all men are created equal " bull (because i can assure you they are not!) attract sexually inadequate men?
i presume this is the same for all major cults not just christianaty
although I've had only limited exposer to other religions its seems to be the case (Muslims/seek/Hindu all got tiny peckers)
i can tell you that the best men are usually atheists or Satanist
although the latter a bit funny as this is really just another silly cult like the rest!

I mean, they know nothing about God but obsess about their insistence that they know more about God than His disciplines based on.... nothing!

In all matters of science, philosophy, argumentation, etc. all their high-falutin "science" and "objectivity" are completely derailed, bent entirely to the pre-ordained conclusion of "not applicable" because they just refuse to get over some emotional hurdle and deal with reality- and then ACCUSE CHRISTIANS of paralyzing reason with emotion!

And then make their snide little comments on Yahoo Answers like it means anything, or they're putting something over on someone? Just goes back to the whole emotional-childishness thing. No wonder so many are liberals.

God is your Father in Heaven?

According to history of human height, in the 18th and 19th centuries, Europeans in North America were far taller than those in Europe. In fact, they were the tallest in the world.

Our time - several nations, including many nations in Europe, have now surpassed the US, particularly the Netherlands, and the Scandinavian nations.

Height is based on the race as well. However individuals of the same race placed in alternative habitat, with generations passed, would mutate in height from average of their race. Once progressed, following generations would exhibit new height characteristics.

Humans also progressed tremendously in height comparing to their “ancestors” from dark ages.

The height progression is explained by the habitat changes- standard of living and quality of life, diet, etc.

HOW IS THIS NOT AN EVOLUTION?

This is something I am curious. Some of us believe in reincarnation.

I have always wondered where did the idea of reincarnation come from. I used to think it was from the Middle East or even Africa.

I now realise it seems to originate from India.

From where in India did the idea of reincarnation originate? How did this belief come about and spread? Is there a religion or culture that stipulate this? If it does originate from India, the idea should be older than Buddism.

have been told that they only have a measure of the Holy Spirit?

According to the Watchtower 15 February 1998, page 19 para 6, those Jehovah's Witnesses who do not have a heavenly hope have been told 'The same spirit is operating on Jesus' 'other sheep', but it is not arousing in them the hope and desire for heavenly life.' Does this mean you are not in the new covenant (Luke 22:20)? And if you are not in the new covenant, how can you be assured of surviving Armageddon?

John 3:34 says that "the one whom God sent forth [Jesus] speaks the sayings of God, for he does not give the spirit by measure". I'm not interested in a debate about living forever on a paradise earth - I just want to know if 'the other sheep' are FULLY anointed by the Holy Spirit or not?

I'm an atheist, for all practical purposes. I just like to keep an open mind; I would like to consider whatever changed you. I'm not quite interested in personal experiences or dreams. That's obviously something I can't usefully consider. I'm more interested in known information, something verifiable by multiple sources.

Bush & Co marginalizing you, "intelligent design" popularized etc etc . . . you know the "grievances".

Step one to stop this rot --- a statue of King Kong in Times square holding a blob of "primordial goo" in one hand and a bust of Carl Sagan in the other. Would this take great strides in alleviating your pain?

I dreamt that I was a police officer that was shot in my stomach in the line of duty. I then went on a journey, walking along a straight road. I passed all different vices until I came to my church. My pastor came to me but I felt that this was not the place I was supposed to be. I kept on going until I came to a place where there were about six to eigth persons, sitting in the lotus position making a circle but there was a space left for me so that the circle would be complete. When I took my place the sun begun to rise. It was the biggest most brightest sun I have ever seen. At the sight of this I felt myself say " YES! this is it!!"

Did we give up on all of these ideas because we don't think the Bible is true? Or is there genuine human need and intrinsic importance to these ideas? If they are important (life really is a ***** without them) then what are we doing to achieve them? Yes, including the afterlife....

If someone wanted to do a blood atonement would the church allow it? Do members who feel they have done something so wrong they deserve to die often find willing executioners among the congregation in this day and age?

Any Mormons out there ever witness a blood atonement?

'That's the problem with putting your faith in something man invented. It's constantly changing, constantly being proven wrong. God is never wrong and He never changes. Guess where I stand? :) ' - C L Richardson to this question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AjIt4TkwA_JesXyCeejHRXPd7BR.;_ylv=3?qid=20071002102740AA3HnOK

Scientific theories are constantly replaced because we find better evidence, more accurate theories, not all change is scary is it? Our understanding of the universe is bound to change as it grows - general relativity is a more accurate theory than Newtonian gravity, another more accurate still will come along.

If a body of knowledge never changes how can it admit its wrong? How can it be corrected? How can it do anything but hold back the mentality of anyone who buys in to it?

Guess where I stand?

Im very naive on religion - i dont really have that much of an interest in it, so my terminology is pretty awful - excuse me!

You know the 'head dress' that muslim(i think) women wear to cover their hair - why do they do this?

There are about 3 girls in my year who never show there hair, and when asked they say its to protect their dignity and they dont want people to think they are vain because its not looks that matter. This is a fair comment, but why the hair and not the face? By the way, they all wear quite a lot of make up, if this is not emphasising beauty then what is!!

So yeah, please tell me why the hair is rarely shown to anyone but the husband. And also, do they secretly look down on all other girls who dont cover their hair?

WITHOUT making fun or being rude to anyone else.

If some of you acutally have the compacity to do that.

I want to know what you think about everything.
How we came to be.
Where the world came from.
Where the universe came from.

I dont need to hear atheists are stupid.
I dont need to hear God is stupid.
If you want to play that card then go back to highschool.

If you are a smart human, and know how to read and follow instructons, then answer my questions.

Tell me what your beliefs are, without debunking others.
If you cant manage that, then dont expect me to even read the second sentece.

Show me the scripture where Jesus says his mother was a virgin. How did Jesus' mock crucifixion save you? Give me some evidence that the first pope was a Jew. Show me something important that your church teaches that the pope has not been teaching for a thousand years.
No ones has to go through the pope to God. They just say it is easier.

I am a Baptist and my boyfriend is Catholic. We both believe in God but I mean lets face it we worship in 2 completely different ways. He has never tried to push me to be something I am not or stop going to church etc. but when I ask him to come to church with me he never wants to, I feel like I am pulling teeth. Even though he is wonderful, do you think that we can remain together or that or religions will cause a problem for us later on down the line?

Many years ago, the art of "cloning" started to be used in movies. Scientists researched this and stated that acutally cloning a human being is impossible and could never be done.
Many years back, the thought of life on other planets was proven to be stupid and idiotic by scientists.
Scientists studied our world and thought it was flat, and were sure that we could easily fall of the side.
Scientists made a claim that no animal can be both sexes. They are either female or male.
Scientists WAAAAAY back said that twins have a 98% chance of dying in birth and that siamese twins can never make it alive...

Hmmm....First, cloning has already been done. The possibility of other life on different planets is getting bigger and bigger. The world is NOT flat. Animals can be either or sex. Frogs for example have the ability to be both. And twins and siamese twins are all around us....

You going to let those people tell you their theories as to how we came out and actually listen to them?
