'That's the problem with putting your faith in something man invented. It's constantly changing, constantly being proven wrong. God is never wrong and He never changes. Guess where I stand? :) ' - C L Richardson to this question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AjIt4TkwA_JesXyCeejHRXPd7BR.;_ylv=3?qid=20071002102740AA3HnOK

Scientific theories are constantly replaced because we find better evidence, more accurate theories, not all change is scary is it? Our understanding of the universe is bound to change as it grows - general relativity is a more accurate theory than Newtonian gravity, another more accurate still will come along.

If a body of knowledge never changes how can it admit its wrong? How can it be corrected? How can it do anything but hold back the mentality of anyone who buys in to it?

"Scientific theories are constantly replaced because we find better evidence, more accurate theories, not all change is scary is it?"

You're right. How many years after the Bible was written did it take scientists to finally "discover" that the earth is in fact round? Or that the stars are innumerable? Or that the ocean has currents? Or that the canyons were formed by a single flood? Or that topsoil formation has only been occurring for about 6,000 years? Or that the moon has only been collecting dust for about 6,000 years? Or that more than a few thousand years ago the sun would have swallowed up the earth if it had existed? Or that more than a few thousand years ago the moon would have caused the tides to flood the earth 4 times a day if it had existed? And even today as we learn more about our world science is coming to realize the impossibility of evolution. I doubt you've ever visited a Creation museum, only ones that support your fallible worldview. Perhaps it's time to break those chains and learn something.

"If a body of knowledge never changes how can it admit its wrong? How can it be corrected?"

Would a body of knowledge ever need to admit it's wrong if it never is wrong? Would it need correction if it was always correct?

My faith was established by God and Jesus not man. The essence of God's words do not change even though the culture has changed over the past 5,000 years.

The opposite thought on that is that God, who is perfect, never changes. So the truths that he conveys to man never change.
Thuth is truth, and it cannot change. The reason scientific theories change is because they are often in error, so they must change. Unfortunately, science often replaces one error with another. But God's eternal Truth prevails for all time.

it's sad when people think truth is just a matter of their own opinion. as if because they think evolution isn't true, then it isn't. that's astonishing.

and to the person that thinks topsoil proves the bible:
