Did we give up on all of these ideas because we don't think the Bible is true? Or is there genuine human need and intrinsic importance to these ideas? If they are important (life really is a ***** without them) then what are we doing to achieve them? Yes, including the afterlife....

The concept of heaven is whatever you make it. No one has ever shown me an example of it, so I don't pretend about what it really is like or that it exists.

So, if i understand you, Im a quitter because I prefer to have love, knowledge and pleasure in THIS LIFE instead of the next, which hasnt been proven to exist?

heaven is equal to "Playboy mansion" (according to the concept you described). I am not a celebrity so I would not get invited, so I am not thinking about it.

We are not quitters, we think practically.
