Show me the scripture where Jesus says his mother was a virgin. How did Jesus' mock crucifixion save you? Give me some evidence that the first pope was a Jew. Show me something important that your church teaches that the pope has not been teaching for a thousand years.
No ones has to go through the pope to God. They just say it is easier.

Regarding teachings and how to live the pope and his predecessor have been very straight with me and others; that is why they are so disliked by some since their beliefs conflict with the lives of pleasure and debauchery many of us would rather entertain.
The books of the new testament say Mary was a virgin. The protestants believe that as well. The pope knows a little more about religion and theology than a scullery maid, drunken sailor or chartered accountant so his points of view are worth some consideration. They are not elected to that office by being stupid... check out the educational credentials of the past several popes and they are well above average. We all have the freedom to take him or leave him at that.
By the way, when you were drafted into the German army the penalty for refusing to go was not 400 hours community service like those American draft dodgers got for gum s hitting it to Canada. It was death and your family suffered. All kids were forced into some sort of Hitler youth and even the Boy Scouts were altered to that. That does not make one a Nazi. You had to join the party, pay membership dues have a clean ethnic record going back several generations and this pope had no part in that. Sigh, its like saying southerners like Bush, Carter, Clinton are all KKK and should not be in office either.

He's as "straight" with people as any other cult leader. Most rational adults know Jesus is a baseless myth. But if it makes you feel better, then go ahead, silence your mind, drink the kool-aid.
