I mean, they know nothing about God but obsess about their insistence that they know more about God than His disciplines based on.... nothing!

In all matters of science, philosophy, argumentation, etc. all their high-falutin "science" and "objectivity" are completely derailed, bent entirely to the pre-ordained conclusion of "not applicable" because they just refuse to get over some emotional hurdle and deal with reality- and then ACCUSE CHRISTIANS of paralyzing reason with emotion!

And then make their snide little comments on Yahoo Answers like it means anything, or they're putting something over on someone? Just goes back to the whole emotional-childishness thing. No wonder so many are liberals.

And just in case there's any doubt as to this hilarity, look at all the self-congratulating thumbs up.

Faith that stands on authority isn't faith, if you ask Emerson. That's the nearest I'll go to joining in such sophistry though. Such "wisdom" is not... well, check it out in Romans for yourself.

Finally, aethists who are "former Christians" obviously weren't genuine Christians. It's like telling a professor of Spanish studies that Spain doesn't exist- and that he's an idiot for thinking that, he's obviously wrong based on a bunch of specious jabs that start with Spain not existing and reinforce themselves, and pitying his smallness for believing in Spain because he "needs" it. And many Christians like myself are former atheists, so I guess my "expertise" cancels theirs out.

Now why don't you put that in your cowardly godless pipes and smoke it.

PPS: Think I'm wrong? Think Christians are hubristic loudmouthed brutes and atheists are wise seekers? I can disabuse you of that! Take a good look at some of these answers!!

Addendum: since aetheism requires such wanton self-absorbtion and these opinionated clowns inevitably resort to ad-hominum attacks (see also: wisdom, maturity), it should be known that I'm a great believer in science, philosophy, and even skepticism.

These are gifts from God that man uses to understand His glory.

Of course, these clowns think four years of adult life is sufficient "experience" and "knowledge" to conclude superlatively wild misconceptions of the divine, and such backward reasoning could hardly be called insightful. See, are they funny or what?

it is pretty sad if you asked me, atheist are lost the only answers they seek come from themselves. They go to bed and don't realize that it is God who gives them life to rise up again and enjoy another day but, they think they know it all......but they are funny...

By today's standards, your Jesus was a liberal, too. Rush, Sean, and the rest of right-wing hate radio would be denouncing him on a regular basis, trust me.

Your premise is flawed. Science, at least, asks questions and looks for answers. Religion demands unquestioning, blind obedience.

Basing your "reality" on imaginary spirits and a single text written 1500 to 2000 years ago hardly puts you in a position to question anyone.

P.S. Get over yourself.
By the way, self-absorption is not a bad thing, provided it doesn't interfere with daily functioning or interpersonal relationships. It's also called "self-esteem," something religion has been trying to remove from humanity for centuries.
You sound pretty self-absorbed yourself, Sparky. I'm sure your English teacher will be proud of all the weekly vocabulary words you managed to use in this "hubrisitic, loudmouthed" diatribe. That there are ad hominem attacks in response is not in dispute; however, you should have expected it given the self-satisfied and smug generalizations you've poured out.
You claim to know all about atheists because you used to be one. Fine. But knowing yourself doesn't qualify you to know anyone else. I have a lot more than "four years of adult life" behind me, sonny. I've been working for a living probably since your mother was in grade school. I'm a nurse, and I work with people you arrogant, superior "Christians" routinely turn your backs on. If that qualifies me as being "cowardly," I guess then I'm a coward. It doesn't require bravery to "let go and let God." That's just giving up, which is true cowardice.
Do not presume to be able to read into my beliefs. You know nothing about me, or anyone else. You have the right to your opinions under law. However, being strident about them only weakens your arguments. By the way, I don't smoke a pipe, but I do enjoy being godless.

Can you know the substance of a vacuum?

Okay, here's the thing. Atheists don't claim to know anything about God because they don't believe in God. Some claim to know a lot more about Christian theology than many Christians. It's the same basic argument: The Bible is from God and it says there's a God vs. The Bible is just a book. The Bible does not prove ANYTHING excpet that something is written in a book called te Bible. Thefefore, knowing the Bible does NOT translate to knowing God.

I'm a theist, but I am getting SO tired of having to explain atheism to other theists. C'mon, guys... live and let live!!!

"What i locate humorous is they're utilising this accusation as an insult as a results of fact even they understand that having faith is retarded." i've got not at all used this actual attack, yet how did you arrive on the tip that somebody is utilising it as an insult? an decision clarification is they're basically attempting to show out to you which you stay by using a definite attitude and that pronounced attitude impacts your existence daily. don't be so rapid to declare it does not. There are myriad atheists in this internet site who say their lives replaced extensively whilst they threw faith into the bin. Sounds existence-affecting to me.

Shoot. And I wanted to be hilarious. But since I do not insist that I know more about god than his delusional faithful, since there is nothing to know about a god that likely does not exist, I must be one boring atheist to you.

And I refuse to get over "some emotional hurdle and deal with reality"? Do you realize what you just said? hahahaha

**sigh** I suppose that you were hoping to gain a response from the people that concider themselves as "Atheists." ??
I see from the numbers that responded that you have gained that which you may have sought? However..I personally do NOT think that atheists are hilarious by ANY means! They are the "dead that know nothing" because they have not "Life" which I know is Jesus Christ. What you have said is like someone saying, that going to a funeral would be a "happy, fun filled occassion" and laughing at all those that are filled with sorrow & grief. Charlie, there is MUCH to be gained by the searches of Science, Philosophy, Argumentation, Mathematics, and Objectivity...etc etc..God does NOT want His people to be "Blind followers"..but He does want us to SEEK knowledge & gain wisdom..to KNOW the things of God from different perspectives. As it is now it is like the prophet Hosea said so long ago "Ho 4:6 - My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge." Do not become as they are in following what they do...you sink to a "lower level". Rather than debase these people, try to bring YOUR own wisdom & knowledge that the Lord has given you, into this forum, and refute them with kindness, humility & the Love of our Savior. Who knows maybe we will all grow more "intelligent" that way?!

Actually you will find that a good number of atheists know a lot about religion because some of us were raised in various faiths. Even my christian husband says that.

I find if funny that to some christians, our lack of belief in what they believe in is so threatening to them. When is the last time you saw an atheist going door to door trying to convert somebody? Can't say that about various other religions.

Oh, and my christian husband he's a liberal... but then he's also European so he is a lot more open-minded than some of the christians on this side of the pond.

I disagree. You can learn a lot about faith from atheists. They have to exercise faith regularly to believe in a naturalistic world view.

Evolution==
Cosmic nothing=>Time, space, matter, energy(miracle)universe by fusion(but can't account for the lighter elements of the periodic table)(miracle)=>inanimate matter becomes animate(miracle)(especially since this is biochemically impossible)=>inanimate matter(with mystical mind features) decides to form into a living organism (miracle) organism must develop a will to survive it's short generation life and figure out a way to reproduce(miraculously) and make some progeny(miracle)=>a bunch of motivated progeny(with sudden mystical will power to procreate and form complex organ systems)(miracle)= >complex organ systems (using their mystical mind features) to work symbiotically with other complex organ systems=> complex organisms(miracle)=>these organisms use "mystical mind powers) to create adaptive features(miracle) etc. etc.
I believe God created us as we are with purpose, form, and function along with all the order systems of the universe.(Miracle)

I hope it is obvious. Who exercises the greater faith?

My conclusions are not "based on nothing". They come from personal experience (I did very devoutly believe in deity at some points in my life), study of various religions (both formal and on my own), and years of observation of the human animal.

Your babbling makes no sense. You sound like you're really unsure of your own beliefs. Maybe you should be more open minded. Check out some Hindu or Buddhist writings.

You seem angry at Liberals. You really should look up what Liberal actually means. If you know your New Testament, Jesus was about as Liberal a person that ever existed.

You've exposed your ignorance in a number of different ways here. You even used one of the most tired and idiotic statements of late: "No wonder so many are liberals."

Your "question" is such a caricature of stupidity that I am beginning to think you're goofing the whole thing.
