I know pleading the blood is very important in christianity and a vital part of many of your prayers but do you really think it is necessary to plead the blood over everything? Don't you think the idea gets carried away sometimes? I have seen people plead the blood over their cars, their cats, their motorcycles, parking lots...I really can't imagine all christians think this is normal and what you should do.

Does it not show lack of faith in god if you have to keep constantly pleading the blood over everything. I don't see anywhere in the bible where it tells you to do this over and over again.

AN ATHEIST IN THE WOODS

An atheist was walking through the woods.

"What majestic trees!"
"What powerful rivers!"
"What beautiful animals!"
He said to himself.

As he was walking alongside the river, he heard a rustling in the
bushes behind him. He turned to look. He saw a 7-foot grizzly charge

towards him.

He ran as fast as he could up the path. He looked over his shoulder

and saw that the bear was closing in on him.

He looked over his shoulder again, and the bear was even closer. He

tripped and fell on the ground. He rolled over to pick himself up
but
saw that the bear was right on top of him, reaching for him with his

left paw and raising his right paw to strike him.

At that instant the Atheist cried out, "Oh my God!"

Time Stopped.
The bear froze.
The forest was silent.

As a bright light shone upon the man, a voice came out of the sky.

"You deny my existence for all these years, teach others I don't
exist and even credit creation to cosmic accident."

"Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament? Am I to count

you as a believer?"

The atheist looked directly into the light, "It would be
hypocritical
of me to suddenly ask You to treat me as a Christian now, but
perhaps
You could make the BEAR a Christian?"

"Very Well," said the voice.

The light went out. The sounds of the forest resumed. And the bear

dropped his right paw, brought both paws together, bowed his head &

spoke:

"Lord bless this food, which I am about to receive from thy bounty
through Christ our Lord, Amen."

I think my friend sent in a letter or card to them and filled it out with my information as a joke. However, they've been calling for the last few weeks. I've already told them I'm not interested. It seems like a different person calls each time. How can I get them to leave me alone?

It is believed Mary Magdalene may possibly have been the woman caught in adultery, about to be stoned to death, when Jesus Christ intervened and told the crowd, "Let him without sin cast the first stone." Everyone in the crowd dropped their stones. None was without sin. Jesus asked Mary Magdalene where her accusers were. She said they've all gone. Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more."

If you read deeply, it contains Justice, Advice, and Forgiveness coming from humble, relaxed, self corrected and above all knowledgeable being. Interestingly, He did not make an issue out if it. After all he brought a choice; he knew he could only positively influence the world by emulating a superior character and not by controlling others. His credibility was complimented by his actions.

Similarly soon our journey of life will come to an end. All our dreams will be part of the dirt since all will meet death one day. Our opportunity to Love and serve will come to an end. World today needs more courage, love, understanding, tolerance and compassion. As we know, it is better to light a candle then to curse the Darkness. Similarly, it does not matter who we are to the spiritual World. All are welcome, Atheists, Christians, Muslims, Jews, Pagans, Buddhists, Hindus, Sikh or anyone else. How can we play our part? What could be done to help generations to follow? Any ideas! Think twice before you write a thing. Words indeed tell who we are!

that you can never lose your salvation and others claim you can.

I thought from a baptist faith that you are told you can never lose your salvation where in christianity if you fall away you basically have to get saved over again.

Please, this is a sincere question for the Christians, so let's save the negative remarks for later. I overheard several neighbors talking last evening, and I am simply wondering.

I should probably ask them, but I don't want them to know that I was eavesdropping.

Have you found yourself to be capable of strong friendship with even those very different from yourself? Perhaps opposite philosophic or religious beliefs? Or at least to not be contentious? It seems people find it a badge of honor to stir up as much trouble as possible in opposing groups. Can you have a lively discussion/argument with someone and stay away from ad hominem and condensencion?

In the Old Testament, we see many references to the Holy Spirit being here with us and as the Source of all life and things. Our Father-Son God (Let US make Man in OUR own Image ..., Gen 1:26-27) in and as our Creator Father-Son Jesus Christ, Incarnated (not just merely born a babe with no Deity past-present-future) here as our New Master Teacher. Read now John 16:7-16 and see this additional Gift sent here, Spirit Light flooding down eternally upon all flesh, since AD30. He the Father-Son Spirit of Truth is not the same as The Holy Spirit Bride of Christ. Today, some of the many sect-divided human church members try to put themselves up as being Deity: "The Bride of Christ", the Holy Spirit or the Holy Creative Mother Spirit. "Glorious Father and Mother, in One Deity Parent combined, loyal would we be to your Divine Nature."

With Jesus Christ as our Father & Son Union, can you now see the Holy Spirit as the "Bride of Christ", and not just a few church members or leaders?

God will let a serial Killer, child molester, etc in to Heaven because he or she went to prison and found God. but he will throw people into Hell who have spent their lives living for others, risking their lives for others, doing nothing wrong except a cuss word now and then. And so many people except it. saying thats just the way it is. doesnt something seem very wrong with this picture or is it just me?

Many of you will say that satan is fictional - I understand that. How then, do you explain behaviour that is totally out of character, evil or downright disgusting?

For those who believe that satan or some sort of evil spirit exists, what is your logical explaination to "who" he could be besides a biblical character?

My boyfriend and I are celebrating our two year anniversary next month. Now, we won't be getting married for a while yet (need to graduate college and become financially stable first), but I am a girl, and it is fun to think about.

One thing I know is that we don't want a wedding with any specific religious affiliation. He's an Atheist, I'm an Agnostic/Buddhist, and though I suspect some of my more Christian relatives might raise a stink, I don't want a Christian ceremony. I was thinking it might be cool to do something like a traditional Celtic handfasting to honor my heritage (Irish and Scottish), though we'd have to do something to honor the boy's heritage as well (he's Taiwanese and Italian)...

What do you think? Fun idea for a non-religious wedding?

Some of us, like me, need a little help from make-up, designer clothes, acrylic nails and a good hair style. But damn, don't we look hot all the time!

But I mean seriously, don't you think that we look a whole lot better than some of those who just wear baggy clothes and don't ever shave or get a hair cut? Or those ladies who put a veil over their face? What's up with that?

Many of you know I am really into music.

Last night, I was browsing CDBaby, looking for some new tunes. CDBaby categorizes music by genre, so I was perusing the rock section, wanting something fresh. I came across a band whose album cover and influences caught my eye, but in reading their description, the words "Christian rock" jumped off the page. I tried to be fair, and opted to listen to their first song listed on their page.

The opening lyric was to the effect of, "Jesus died for me so I can live forever", at which point I clicked onto the next band's page, disinterested altogether.

In all fairness, I skipped through probably 12-15 bands last night, all but one being secular, and I ended up buying nothing.
