Many of you will say that satan is fictional - I understand that. How then, do you explain behaviour that is totally out of character, evil or downright disgusting?
For those who believe that satan or some sort of evil spirit exists, what is your logical explaination to "who" he could be besides a biblical character?

People do evil things. Sometimes it has to do with chemical imbalances or sudden mental problems that can make them act totally different than normal.
In the end, it is humans who do evil in this world, we need to stop blaming it on a supernatural scapegoat.

This question has me a bit stumped but I'll try anyways. In my skeptic point of view, if the person behaves in an out of character way, they either were on drugs or alcohol... or their character was an act. A cover from their darker side. If there really is a "devil" that can manipulate people, I would put my money on duality. A dark opposite force to the light. A night to the day.

Satans best lie is that he doesn't exist at all.....He is purely a biblical character...A liar , a counterfeiter and was an arch angel, he's a spirit and a deceiver ...He tries to counterfeit Christ and desires to receive the glory due god ....He never created anything and is bound by principles and can only bastardize and distort....The holy spirit is restraining him at this time but soon he will take his hand away and let the devil terrorize this planet and it's inhabitants .....ever heard of all hell breaking loose ...we all have ...ever heard of your worst nightmare?? we all have ...Doesn't sound like fun huh??Exit stage left <=== revelations isn't a pretty picture ..Easy to see why some christians like a rapture senerio ... nobody wants to be here during the tribulation saint or sinner ...

Ah ! SATAN....strike fear in most people when mention. Is He so fear full? Don't be, for He is the God of this world and you are His Children and He loves all of you, very much.
Pray and worship Him and ask the desire of your heart of things pertaining to this world and believe and you will surely be bless according to your wish.
He is beside you and wants to come in to your life. Call unto Him and He shall answer you.
Who is Evil? The Christian. Yes my brother, they are the cause of today sorrow. They have lied to you and make all kinds of mischief just for 10% of your earnings. Don't you feel the rope they put around your neck.
Satan is kind and a gentle God. Even those Christian portray Satan to be an evil person, He did not punish them. He knows that truth will prevail. His patience is running thin for He have given enough grace for those rebellous people and will come down personaly to strike them. For His children blood is crying to His Kingdom.

Satan or evil has to come from disbelief. That is to say you see a "thing" or "event" and can't come to grips with it, can't fathom why or how it could have / be happening. This concept or thought process would have to have a name. The same as Joy, or sorrow as concepts have names.

he's the puck spirit, the angel of temptation if you like, God liked to use him as a bully boy.
He became the 'anti god', in European imagination, after the great plagues of the 13 -1400's. They began to think it was Satan punishing them for some unimaginable sin they must have committed.

Satan is us. When we behave like animals or lower than animals, we are satanic. Animals are innocent and locked into their behavior and are evil only in relationship to each other for discussion purposes. However, humans choose their behaviors. We can choose to be just, kind, merciful, patience, truthful, etc., or we can choose tyranny, hatefulness, heartlessness, impatience, theft, and lying. No one makes us choose; we are responsible for our choices individually and collectively, and to lay fault on something or someone else is to lie, to deny reality.

He's an ex angel who was kicked out for trying to be God himself..Then he got salty about it, and vowed to become god and have all Gods people following him...And he does..Besides a biblical character i dont know besides just evil...Shalom

Only man called Satan in Bible is Peter of Simon-->Peter;
Who is notably also told "when (not if) thou art converted..."
Satan chained & jailed for 1000 yrs in Rev 20: in Acts 12:4.
Converted Peter: "and 1000 yrs [is] as 1 day": 2Pet3.
Allegory for Satan is Law, is also called the Enmity.
Christ is our peace who abolished the law(enmity).
