"God uses The Watch Tower to communicate to his people; it does not consist of men's opinions." - Watchtower 1/1/1942, page 5

Now what does this statement say to YOU? To me, it says the Watchtower is God's voice!! How else can this be interpreted?
Now...has anyone ever noted a false statement in the Watchtower?

And why do you always attack the asker instead of answering the question?

Or any other LDS event? Did you say or do anything?
I was at the Manti Pageant a year ago and of course there were lots of protestors trying to point out the "truth" to us... I was with my Young Women's group during camp time and we were sitting on the temple grounds waiting for the pageant to start. A man with a large sign stood next to the fence and yelled obscenities... we started to sing some songs "I Love to See the Temple" "I Belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" and "I am a Child of God" He went away and the people around us cheered and thanked us.
Has anyone had similar experiences?

If Churches do not pay taxes ( Canada and US ) ...
Bill of Rights and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms both state that it is illegal to discriminate on Sexuality, then MY money is going to organisations who are breaking the laws of the country I live in. Don’t you think that if Churches use public money ( no taxes ) don’t they have to adhere to the laws of that country

It boils down to this: who do you trust? The scientific method & the process of scientific discovery or what Christians and Jews consider to be the infallible, revealed word of God in the Bible.

So which do you trust and why?

*Footnote: Please do not tell me that you believe the bible and yet you also believe in evolution. The creation account and evolution are mutually exclusive since, according to the bible death came after the fall. Therefore there was no death before all the animals and the human race were created so there is no room for the natural selection process to occur which relies on death of the weakest and survival of the fittest.

I have been told time after time on here to get over my "persecution complex" because I talk about the ACLU and stuff....

Well a guy, who is atheist, was beaten up and I said to get over their persecution complex and I got 12 thumb downs...

Does this show that Atheists can dish insults, but can't take them?

Was there someone in your life from an early age that really just drove you away from Christianity? Like a parent or an Aunt that were so extreme that you began questioning? And how old were you when you came to the conclusion(for yourself) that there was no God? Also, honestly has there ever been a time when you wanted to believe, or maybe you thought that you could actually believe?

That way, we could have true free will, being able to do what ever we wanted to. That way, if we chose to serve him, it would really be a choice to serve, instead of just trying to get into heaven.

Wouldn't it mean more if you could do anything god could do, but you chose to serve him anyway? Doesn't making us powerless humans kinda imply that he doesn't have the leadership ability to keep other gods in line?

Alright, so, if we were to accept that sex is strictly too be engaged in by married heterosexual couples (tho' I personally don't care about that) does it have to be done for the purpose of bringing babies into existence? What about married couples who don't want to have children? Or for some reason are unable to reproduce? Can they still shag?
