I have been told time after time on here to get over my "persecution complex" because I talk about the ACLU and stuff....

Well a guy, who is atheist, was beaten up and I said to get over their persecution complex and I got 12 thumb downs...

Does this show that Atheists can dish insults, but can't take them?

I see a difference between not being allowed to post your 10 Commandments in a Courtroom and getting physically beaten.

I have more respect for Atheists than I do for you! And Atheists have had more insults dished up to them on a platter, than you can count the years of your life, so get your facts straight little boy, about who is persecuted, and who is not !

IMHO

You were insensitive to someone who was beat up. That is why you got "thumbs down!"

You weren't insulting, your were hateful. Leave the insults to those who know how.

EDIT

You should try being clearing in your writing. The "additional details" were not available when I first answered your question.

We take the insults, and then prove that it was really retarded if the insultor didn't know what he or she was talking about.

They ask us about how monkeys are still around even after we tell them that we all evolved from a common ancestor.

Of course atheists can't take it. They're always whining and complaining about being "attacked," yet as you say they dish out insults more than anyone else.
