ME!
edit>
If you check out my questions, you'll see that when I first started here, I had a bad habit of offending the atheists without meaning to. I quickly realized how much of a douche bag I looked like. I felt prompted to start reading and searching out resources to back up my beliefs... which I couldn't find. So, the time came to change my beliefs to what seems reasonable. Believing in a big sky daddy who gives a crap about whether or not I masturbate just didn't seem believable to me (and this is not even mentioning the zillion contradictions I discovered within my own religion --Christianity).

Sorry, no. I think It takes more than just a few randomly asked/answered questions to changes a person's beliefs. I would say it usually takes some serious effort or major event to changes ones beliefs about almost anything...
Mind you that I'm speaking of a persons beliefs (i.e. religion, politics, etc...), that isn't quite the same as an opinion (i.e. a favorite sports team, band etc...). I do think that a person's opinion of certain things can be altered slightly by Y!A. Once someone has read so many of the same answers to a question a person may rethink their opinion, however a person's beliefs, as I see it, are almost ingrained in to a person's being and aren't lightly changed or altered.

Yes, I changed my mind but it was a long time ago when my aunt in California enrolled me in the Science Fiction Book Club. But no, I really don't think anyone really changes their mind about basic belief systems after around the age of 10 to 12.

Sure. I used to think that people were interested in unifying and working together for the best interests of the nation. I now realize that people are only interested in winning immediate arguments even if that means that we'll all lose in the end. Also, people are a lot less educated and a lot more ignorant than I ever thought possible. Basically, my hope for the future has been dashed. Thanks Yahoo answers.

Yes and no. If you mean just in general and not just about religion, then I know several that changed their mind about a situation due to advice they got. If you mean about religion, I don't know any off hand, but then again, I don't talk to a whole lot of people on here either.

I changed my beliefs several times before I came here by debating with people in person.

I don't know anyone who has changed his/her mind, but I certainly changed my point of view on certain aspects, but I didn't change my religion per say. I think I've got conclusions that I've never got before Yahoo Answers. Good conclusions and bad conclusions. People I thought that was nice, I found out to be very rude, and people I thought that would be rude, came out to be brilliant and intelligent ones.
Peace!

I have had many friends on here and have been in contact with them for months now. 4 of them changed their minds(reverted). It's not something very abnormal.
