chances are some will deny it even if there was proof(in which they'd be in denial). however Im sure some of them prefer knowing and not believing. and since theres no proof, the wont believe.
by the way, they're not the only ones who attack the asker. sometimes I ask something and I get plenty of "read the bible"s or "you just havent accepted jesus yet"s or "the choice is up to you"s. and they dont really answer the question

I was a good little alterboy until I asked questions the priests did not want to answer. It wasn't that couldn't, they wouldn't. So I discovered the answers on my own and have never looked back. Most of the questions fundies ask have been asked and answerded, in detail, usually hundreds of times. They do not choose to research their questions and the same dumb questions come up again and again. Also, we think. Belief takes no intelligent rational thought processes. I choose to think.

You are entitled to whatever feelings you like... unless you're of the Christian faith, in which case your religion dictates you must apologize for them and beg for forgiveness.
I am stubborn because, despite what many people think, lack of a single credible shred evidence is a Problem when we're trying to prove something exists.

Look! I'm answering your question! :P
I'm stubborn because I have two brothers. It's pure socialization, and maybe a bit of heredity.
I don't believe in gods bcause I've never experienced anything that would CAUSE me to believe. Ergo, by default, I don't believe.
But if Zeus ever gets back to me, I'll let you know.

Not sure what question you're talking about, but seeing as how there's currently no proof that doesn't have something to do with feelings or faith, I don't think they're stubborn.

Then your feeling is wrong.
I need an APROPRIATE level of evidence for god's existence before I will believe.
The fact of the matter is their is no "proof". Proof is undeniable FACT that god exists. Obivously that doesn't exist. Or we would KNOW god existed and faith would be unnecessary.
You don't have proof and you don't even have evidence. That is just the way it is, get used to it.

Actually, as an atheist, I would welcome even one sliver of proof. But the problem is all you have to offer would be the bible (written by men) and the fact that there a lot of Christians in the world - neither of which convinces me in the slightest

Then show me some proof. If you could even show me some evidence I would seriously question what I think.
The fact is that there is no evidence and there never has been.
To answer your question,if you could show me one tiny piece of proof then I would believe that god existed.
Is that clear enough for you?

You don't seem to understand. Atheist don't generally ask for proof. We ask for evidence. I am willing to consider any evidence Christians may have, but I want real evidence. No warm fuzzys, no the Bible is true because it says it is true, no "the evidence is all around you in nature."

I'll do my best to answer the questions given to me. In fact in one of my questions I wanted to hear valid responses to belief. All I got was crap. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AgKPg4hZgEIV6.PftTmwOhbsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20070916012322AAqEAV0
And I'm SURE if you had all the proof in the world you'd still make up excuses saying there's a God like most religious folk do.
