From the dead. If you could prove it to me beyond a shadow of a doubt, I would become Atheist in a split second.

But since you cannot and never will I remain Catholic.

Proverbs 18:20-22 (King James Version)

20A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.
21Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

back in the 80's I went through a horrific event in my life that almost distroyed my faith in God and life itself. My heart was so distant from the things of God and I felt as though He and all had abandoned me. I continued to go to church, and did what I considered to be the right things although I didn't feel God and so much negativity came from every side, people were not even aware of what I was going through.
During this time... a couple sang a song, 'Two Winng Hands' it was nice, but, didn't phase me then.
A good six months later one Sunday morning I broke down, closed my eyes, raised my hands and surrendered to our Hevenly Father, I told Him,"I can't bare this anymore!" That's when I saw those 'TWO WINNING HANDS'....

"the real Christians".

Technically we are what the Christian religon is.

Our church is the only church that can be traced back to the apostles.

In the beginning of the protestant groups they broke away so they could do their own thing for example get a divorce and remarry.

I respect everyones religion but it seems like the fundies are so rude and only think they are right.

Muslims, Jews, Wiccans, Agnostic, Buddists just about every other group I can think of is more respectful of others than some of these fundies.

What do you think

Aren’t you praying? Or does god doesn’t care about them?

It seems to me that the Southern Baptists that spend the whole service up and dancing around in order to be filled with the Holy Spirit are very similar to the VooDoo practice of exciting oneself to the point the spirit you are trying to contact fills you and you become possessed with the spirit. Is there any evidence to suggest this link?

In Matthew 6:5-6 Jesus tells believers to not pray "to be seen by man" but rather go into our room and pray to our Father in secret. So why do most churches have corporate prayer where leaders and others pray out loud so everyone can hear? Where is the biblical precedent for corporate prayer? I know that Matthew 18:19-20 says "...if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for...", but I don't see how that has anything to do with large corporate praying.

Can someone please enlighten me? Is there other scripture that supports corporate prayer? Seems to me that many times we pray in group settings only so other people will hear us...not to communicate with God. If I want to communicate with someone I usually do it one-on-one. Why is it different with prayer?

I've been trying to figure out why there are so many twisted, rude, mean answers to questions in this forum, and I've asked that question before.

Sitting behind my keyboard, I tend to think of other people sitting behind their keyboards as being like me - a little older, educated, etc. It is a natural thought. But this morning, it came to me that there are probabably a bunch of dumb teenagers, and cranksters who haven't gone to sleep yet, and other jackasses, sitting behind their keyboard who have no other goal than to be a pain in the ****.

Be honest: How many of you fit that description? Oh, I know its a dumb question, because people like you are too cowardly to admit it. But, this realization now makes it easier for me to understand why there are so many sophmoric, assinine answers to so many questions here.

Anyone agree with my theory?

You may be aware that thousands of years ago, the Jews were taken into captivity in what soon became Persia, during their first dispursion. There, a young Jewish man named Daniel arose, showing himself to be a powerful prophet. Scripture tells us he possessed copies of the scrolls making up the Old Testament (as far as it had been written) and that he had Persian students who studied the Biblical scrolls under him. These students had students, and so on -- until we see the "Three Wise Men of the East," as discussed in Matthew 2 of the Bible. Because Daniel had taught his students Bible prophecy, these Wise Men knew how to calculate when to expect the Jewish Messiah, because Daniel Chapter 9 tells us the exact year that He would be born!

I haven't asked about this for months.

So here we go again.

The gospels were all written decades after the supposed death of Jesus.(The first census in the region happened in the year 6CE, 3 years after Herod's death. This fact alone destroy's the credibility of the gospels).

There are NO references to Jesus from the many historical scholars alive during his time, somewhat strange considering his deeds documented in the bible.

Pliny the younger mentions christians, but not any references to Jesus.

The reference from Josephous was written in 92 CE & was copied from the same source as Luke's gospel. (His other reference was most likely added by a translator as it was out of context with his normal writing.)

The reference from Tacitus gets Pilate's title wrong & refers to Christus, not Jesus.

So where's the evidence for Jesus of Nazareth having ever even existed?..............aside from "personel enlightment"?
(If I said my fridge was God would that make it so?)

I have seen it given as good as it gets on here
I have seen Christians bag Muslims and Vice versa
I have only been attacked for my Belief ( Atheist ) Once by a Muslim.... And I gave it right back.

You Christians say Muslims preach hate....... From what I see here it's the other way around.

I realize I have made a stereotypical comment but from what I read.......This seems to be the case.

Many people describe symptoms of mental illness as sins. How can we go to hell for chemical imbalances in the brain? It's not our fault we were born like this. I'm pretty sure the man up above won't strike a blind or deaf person to hell.

You know the way the Bible prohibits uncovering the nakedness of one's wife during her period? [Lev18;19 KJV] Well, is a husband allowed to be pleasured, by his wife, as long as below-her-waist remains covered?

This is a serious question. Like a man needs some release if you get my drift.
