What proof do you have, or how do you disproove that God does exists?

Why are you so passionate about denying Him?

When deciding upon schools to send your kids to- doesn't it make more sense to just send them to a parochial school where they will get the education you want them to, instead of trying to FORCE public schools to teach something that should be taught in a religious school? I just think it would be so much easier for you, don't you?

If price is an issue (as I would assume is the case with private schooling), then shouldn't you petition the church for lower tuition?

my muslim boyfriend of 8 years just told me today that he has done so much sin that he wants to be a proper muslim again. he didnt pray or fast for the last 4 years and ate in non halal places (but no pork) while we are overseas. iam a chinese, it was never much of a problem, but after we got in a huge fight a few days ago, then he declared that he needs to be a better person, including treating me better in order to do that we will no longer have physical contact other than holding hands till we get married. And that he will no longer eat at my place or with my family to non halal place or even touch my dog anymore. he is determined to do it or else he will go to hell he says.we won;t get married in at least another 2 years as we are still not financially stable. i cant live without my dog but can;t imagine living without him either. how do i cope or do after 8 years?!! he also said i cant convert because of him, cause i can only do so if i want to. i don't see how it can work.

Does the money go to whoever is in guardianship of the dog? Can it only be used for whatever expenses the dog may incur (food, grooming, etc)?

(You R&S people are a smart bunch [sometimes], and more likely to respond, that's why I'm asking it here.)

is in fact at root an Middle Eastern Religion? For many years, I have noticed that the Southern Whites of the Bible Belt are fanatical evangelical Christians, usually of the Evangelical persuasion, and that their families either have a history of extreme racism, or are themselves still racist. The Ku Klux Klan, a famous southern racist institution is supposedly a group of Christians, yet I find it baffling that they also hate Jews and Catholics. Why? I thought these religions and the people that follow them were the basis for the Protestant religions they observe today. And why on Earth do these people hate the Middle East and its people if in fact they follow a Middle Eastern religion? Jesus was a Levantine man who spoke Aramaic, and they follow him, even considering him to in fact be white and not Jewish to muffle their own hypocrisy. C'mon give me a break. How can these people be so stupid. Why don't they just turn to the pagan religions of pre-christian Europe?

people that lump all "christians" under one stereotype. why do you (of ANY faith-or lack of) think this is so? is it just the fact that all of us believe in the same God, so that makes all of our thought processes the same? that we all have the same personalities and characteristics? that christians can't get an education? and when we are educated, just because we have faith and hope in something we can not see or touch, we are automatically morons/stupid/uneducated/simple-minded?
this is a serious question, i am not being sarcastic (i know, many of you are shocked)
i know and realize there are fundamentalists/extremists out there that give christianity a bad name; but isn't that the case for all religions?

In a Bible study this week our teacher taught us, "Don't engage in war if there is no spoil."

If we are only arguing to prove our point and not truly caring about the salvation of the one we are in conversation with, what profit is there?

He talked about an Atheist always bothering a Christian friend of His. Always trying to engage in an argument. His friend frustrated by the attacks.

He told Him it was pointless unless God specifically deals with you to say something, don't.
If we from our intellect engage in battle with unbelievers whether they be atheists, muslims, buddhists, etc. the battle is fruitless.
Definition of unbeliever: One who does not trust in Christ for salvation.

If we are moved on by the Spirit of God to say something it is because this person has actually been contemplating the idea of Gods work and, faith is at work in their heart and, God is using you to only confirm. You are either watering a seed that has been planted or actually planting the seed.

I have heard lots of people saying that Mormons do not know anything about the bible, and I was directed to an article that was posed on the Washington Post web site:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/03/01/AR2007030102073.html
that details a book that talks about how little American Christians actually know about the bible, and I started wondering how many of you Christians that criticize members of the the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for their supposed lack of understanding of the Bible actually read it on a regular basis? I am not talking about just on Sundays or when you go to go to some Bible study class but actually take time out of your daily schedule and read the bible on your own time. How often have you actually read out of the Bible what you are condemning us for? How Many of you have actually read the whole bible even once through?

This is not an attempt to criticize you in any way, but only an attempt to better understand you.

I saw on the world news last night that the Islamics were using children to do their dirty work.

I know that a lot of Muslims aren’t like the terrorists, and I’m not making that comparison, but I wanted to know why don’t the Good Muslims speak out about this horrible practice?

They are your children, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and friends. Are you afraid that the bad islamists will hunt you down? Are you silent out of fear for your lives? What other reasons do you have for not making a stand? Do you agree with these practices? Silence does speak volumes, but most of the time it says, you don’t care or are afraid for your lives? Which is it?

How did the apostle John foresee the advent of satellite technology back in the first century? (See Revelation 11:9)
How did the apostle Paul know, some 2,000 years before the AIDS epidemic, that homosexual behavior would in time produce death within the bodies of those who practice it? (See Romans 1:27, 32)
How was the prophet Zechariah, hundreds of years before the time of Christ, able to describe a future military attack involving what can only be nuclear weapons (See Zechariah 14:12)? And how did Jesus know that man would one day have the ability to destroy the whole world? (See Matthew 24:22)
How did Isaiah know some 2,500 years before the time of Columbus that the earth is a circle? (See Isaiah 40:22)
How did Job know, thousands of years before the time of Christ, that the moon does not give off its own light? (See Job 25:5)
How did Job know back then that God "hangs the earth upon nothing," a perfect description of gravity? (See Job 26:7)
Well?

Doing the math says they can not. Science just recently started to provide proof that they "can".

Lasers illuminate the flight of the bumblebee
A well-known myth says that scientists once proved that bumblebees should not be able to fly. The myth started from an over-simplified calculation on a napkin at a dinner party. But even detailed models of the flight of the bumblebee are limited because they are based largely on the motion of tethered bumblebees, which behave differently. Now Lijang Zeng of Tsinghua University in China and colleagues have devised a laser system that accurately measures the key parameter in the flight of any insect - its 'body vector' (Lijang Zeng et al 2001 Meas. Sci. Technol. 12 1886).

Even though the bumble be can be seen flying, logic says it should not.
So bumble bees just defied science all these years and flew anyway.
If you were an atheist bumble bee, would you have waited for proof that you can fly, or just took a leap of faith?

I have been interested in it for years and I have tried so hard to do it. I think I did it once, or twice, but I never got very far. My problem is that I have difficulty clearing my head, of the outside thoughts that pour in. When I finally reach that point, it's because I have fallen asleep because I am so exhausted from trying to project. Does anybody have any suggestions, for an over-analytical person, on how to clear her head, so that she may successfully project?

As we all have heard from time to time, Jesus spoke in parables.

Do you know the meaning of the word parable? If so, then why would you believe the whole story to be fact?

Believing a parable is rather like believing the Harry Potter stories to be true because they speak about London when you know that only the London part is fact.

Don't know what parable means?

From the American Heritage Dictionary: n. A simple story illustrating a moral or religious lesson.

Merriam-Websters dictionary: a usually short fictitious story that illustrates a moral attitude or a religious principle

Now that you know what the dictionary calls a parable, why would you continue to believe parables are factual?

And if Jesus taught in parables, what makes you think that no one else in the bible did?
